Wohnung mit Aussicht
Die Wohnung ist funktional eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Das Highlight ist der phantastische Blick über Stadt und Hafen. Der Sonnenaufgang ist vom oberen Balkon ist atemberaubend. Das Stadtcentrum ist fussläufig erreichbar, auf dem Rückweg darf man sich nicht vor einem recht steilen Anstieg scheuen.

SUPER
Wir waren sehr früh auf Madeira gelandet, aber die Wohnung erst ab 16 Uhr bezugsfertig. Wir nutzten die Zeit für die erste Orientierung. Joao meldete sich aber schon um 14 Uhr, so das wir da schon in die frisch geputzte Wohnung konnten. Die Wohnung war voll ausgestattet und alles funktionsfähig. Die Räume sind für 3 Personen perfekt mit Betten ausgestattet. Das Badezimmer hat alles was man braucht. Am letzten Abend war das Gas ausgegangen und somit hatten wir kein warmes Wasser. Joao kam aber innerhalb einer Stunde und das Problem war gelöst. Der Ausblick vom oberen Balkon über den Atlantik ist phänomenal, sehr entspannend. Die Lage der Wohnung ist gut. Viele kleine Bars sind zu Fuss zu erreichen und die Innenstadt ist ca. 15 Minuten entfernt. Mit der Boltapp kann man sich sicher und günstig von der Stadt heim fahren lassen. Das Einzige was wir bemängeln, ist der massive Autoverkehr an der Straße, aber da kann keiner was ändern. Die Vermieter sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit und sehr gut zu erreichen. Auf englisch konnten wir uns gut austauschen Wir freuen uns schon auf den nächsten Aufenthalt auf Madeira, der sicher wieder in dieser Wohnung sein wird

Repairs and renovation long overdue; no privacy possible
We had a bad experience. Frankly all the positive comments are surprising. The house is in bad condition, it seems like nothing has been done in terms of repairs for a while, even small urgent things. There is a lot of water damage visible on the walls, and signs of mold in some places. The door handle in the bathroom is broken inside, so that it’s impossible to get out when you’re in (unless somebody lets you out). Because of that, there is literally zero privacy. This has been known for a while (see review 02.2024) and nothing was done about it. We let the owner know about this problem as soon as we discovered it, but he said that he is abroad and didn't seem to be very interested to help either. First night of our stay water was leaking on my mom’s head while she was sleeping! I couldn't believe it. We’ve listed just the major things, there are other little things: it is kind of dirty (hasn't been cleaned properly), all the kitchen utensils have old grease on it. The oven is badly positioned (can’t be opened as the fridge is in the way). One comment: we were not expecting the most modern house (the photos are real) and aware that the price is fairly low, but there are basic things that have to be guaranteed: cleanliness, privacy (e.g. being able to close the bathroom door), no mold and definitely roof that doesn't leak when it rains. We don't think that it is too much to ask for. To sum up: we don’t recommend renting the place, unless you want to be disappointed.

Great view and location!
We were so positively surprised! The place is great. Close to the city centre and easy to find free parking nearby :)) But the view... We spent so much time just looking at the sea from the top balcony 😍 Highly recommend:))!!

Convenient property & great host
Our host João was very kind and helpful. The property was very good and was as described in the listing. It included all the facilities that we needed and was located a 10 minute walk away from Central Funchal. All in all it served as a lovely base to explore the rest of Madeira from.

Apartament with a great view
Nice apartament located on a hill (amazing views from the balcony but steep climb from the city center if walking), conveniently located (close to downtown Funchal and the highway). The host was very helpful, flexible and easy to reach. The only thing I would improve is the cleanliness. Don't get me wrong, in general the apartment was clean but certain places (like balcony or shower shelf) seem to be forgotten. If booking please bear in mind that there are barking dogs next door, but I didn't hear them at night.

Nice stay
The place is up a hill, and there are some noises, but all in all it was very nice to stay there. Two stages and balconies. Seperatet rooms. Nice ambience and a great view over Funchal. The kitchen has everything you need (the oven could be places better, but it worked for cooking).

There was a lot of noise in the night, dogs barking from the appartement below. Multiple locks didnt work ( frontdoor and bathroom door. No towels to dry the dishes.

Good neighborhood.
Good location, it is up a hill, but thats all Madeira. We drove and found it easy. Nice local cafe a few houses up. If you exit the front and go straight around the building in front there is a small grocery store. Cafes safari. Have a steak sandwich.

Nice for a short stay
It’s really nice and cozy. But you have to be aware that it’s up the hill, so you will need a car, the bus or good fitness to get to the apartment. The owners son ,Joao is really nice and always reachable via WhatsApp. He was giving us advice one day to stay home because of heavy rain, that was so nice! One star less with the cleaning, because I think the floor needs to be cleaned wet before a check in. My socks really got dark from it. Therefor I didn’t like to walk there barefoot. TV didn’t work, which was ok, because it only was one day we had to stay in, but I think this should be fixed. Also the WiFi didn’t work properly. Online Videos where always stopped, so I had to turn off WiFi to see them. My friends connection was always interrupted. So most of the time it wasn’t useful to use the WiFi.

Overall, we were very happy
Overall we loved the our stay. A quick walk to the harbor with an amazing view, and easy to drive to and park. It was exactly what we were looking for. The hosts were friendly and accommodating. Make sure to read other reviews as there were a few little things that others have commented on that may have affected our experience had we not been prepared. With an extra roll of TP, some salt and pepper, and maybe another pillow and blanket we would stay here again.

Schöne Wohnung mit einigen Mängeln
Die Kommunikation mit dem Sohn der Vermieterin war gut und wir bekamen stets eine schnelle Antwort sowie einige Restauranttipps. Leider können wir nicht bestätigen, dass die Wohnung ruhig ist. Die Straße ist eine Zubringerstraße in die Altstadt und sehr befahren - bis spät in die Nacht und auch am frühen Morgen. Leider gab es auf der Dachterrasse keine Stühle, sodass wir über die Treppe Esstischstühle tragen mussten, um den Blick auf Funchal zu genießen. Während unserer 2 Tag ging das Gas nicht (was wir allerdings zu spät gemeldet hatten, um Abhilfe zu schaffen). Zu bemerken wäre auch, dass das Doppelbett nur 140cm breit ist. Die Wohnung ist kein Neubau.

Good place for visiting Madeira!
The flat is nice and spacious, located in a very convenient spot on Madeira for getting around the island by car. Aldina's son, João, was extremely kind to us and also recommended good restaurants. The only downside was that the flat was rather minimally equipped. Toiletries and toilet paper would be very useful on the arrival.

Fantastischer Ausblick von der Dachterrasse
Wir hatten unseren Haupt-Ferienwohnung auf Porto Santo und sind mit der Fähre für einen Tag (2 Übernachtungen) von Porto Santo nach Madeira gekommen. Unser Vermieter war sehr behilflich und war über Whatsapp sehr gut erreichbar. Er hat uns z. B. gute Restaurants genannt. Die Wohnung bietet alles, was man für einen schönen Aufenthalt auf Madeira benötigt und ist geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Besonders hat uns die Dachterrasse gefallen, die dazu einlädt, abends, mit Blick auf die Altstadt und den Hafen, ein Glas Wein zu trinken.
