Nice location
Great location but the property was not updated at all. No problems with our stay and everything worked with no problems. The property manager was very quick to respond to any questions we had and made sure we had no issues with checking in or out. Overall would definitely recommend this Vrbo.

We really like to house location, the house itself. the bookings arrangements was so easy. We have enjoyed staying at this location. On the other hand, the kitchen and the kitchen utensils and also towels and bed sheets could have more clean. We also have a question about leaking green ground box just at the edge of wooden tables. It’s possible that it is broken, but not sure.

Home needs TLC
We enjoyed our stay, but the home is in need of some care. Keep in mind if you utilize all 4 bedrooms the living and dining areas don’t accommodate that many people.

Worth it
Property was how it was listed. There were a few cosmetic issues, but nothing that made safety a concern. It was so nice to wake up beach side and enjoy a nice home outside city limits. I would stay here again honestly. Apparently a hurricane pushed sand up to the driveway. I thought this was normal, but I was told my friends that it isn’t. You will have to drive on hard-packed sand to get to the home, but we had no issues in a SUV.

Cute place shows it’s age
Sitting on the porch watching The surf crash a mere 75 feet away. This cute little stay is nestled Amongst a group of beautiful homes raised up on stilts to avoid the occasional tidal surge. Was very clean when we arrived however there were no cleaning supplies anywhere for us to keep it that way. I recommend stocking up on that sort of thing for the next group. The appliances all worked fine as we made several meals in the house huge money saver. I didn’t mention but I will now this place is an incredible value. However it does need a bit of deferred upkeep taken care of. There are a few leftover spices from previous renters however no salt to be found anywhere. There was plenty of toilet paper but not enough paper towels. The beds were comfy the house was cozy Ac works really well. There are a couple places in the floor that seem less supportive than others but all that feeds into the charm of this cute little spot. Four couple stay here that usually stay in a Ritz Carlton. Our Princess cruise was canceled at the last minute this was a good stay over on our way to Louisiana. There is a great bar down the street next to the Chevron station at the bar told great stories. The town of Galveston was great there is so much to do here we will be coming back and likely for the value of the trip we will rent the same place. We will pick up some cleaning supplies before we show up. All in all great great location cute little spot it’s not five stars but it’s close enough!

Renters beware
I will be as fair as possible. The proximity to the beach is the positive for this properry. The host did communicate back with me quickly eventhough there were no resolutions to the issues I presented. The photos on the listing are of this property, however they do not represent the poor state of repair this property is in. The floors are unstable and have paint splatter in several places. The paint is probably from the layers of paint on the walls and built in cabinets. The bunk beds are no longer on legs, instead the bottom bunk is on the floor. The dishwasher did not work. Kitchen caninets were dirty and unorganized. The septic tank is over flowing grey water. The decking is in need of complete replacement. (On the last day, one of the boards popped off the back staircase and struck me.) The shared bathroom isnt pictured and extremely small. Ceilings have mold and water damage. Door and baseboards were worn out. Furniture stained. Not much room in the living area to gather. When the washer was in the spin cycle the house noticably shifts. Again, location to beach was ideal. This property would be reaonable foe about 125 dollars a night for walls and a roof. If you spend all day at the beach and just need to shower and sleep, it would be satisfactory at a lower nightly rate. Oh, and the driveway that curves under the house is difficult to manuver in a midsize suv, back in recommended. state of

The property is as large as advertised. The plugs on either side of the kitchen sink are GFI and lit but did not function. The coffee pot had to be plugged in in the living room. The TV and internet were fine. The property had large roaches inside and on the patios. The roads to the house were non existent and we would not have been able to access the house if we had a small car.

In a nutshell, we made the best of some unforeseen amenities, and these online photos are surely misleading. Letting people know the fence in the back yard was down would have been a good start. Pest control should surely be considered as well. Other issues should be looked into, but I'll stop there...

Best Beach Bargain
Cold AC! Hot water with good pressure. Easy walk to beach across sand- not grassy dunes. Good beach and bay views. Nice size decks with great furniture. Very clean. Plenty of dishes. Nice TVs. Needs deck flooring updates and a new couch. Super cute neighborhood.

In horrible shape
This camp is in horrible shape. Floors were tapped together. Whole in floor by door that you can see the ground. Sofa was like it was picked up on the side of the road. Nails in staircase. Sewage over flowing in back yard . Smells. Had to through away in opened food cause of rodents ate through package.

Disappointing stay due to poor cleaning / setup
Bad experience at this property, likely due to the company that manages the property. Downstairs bathroom was locked and when we got the bathroom door open bathroom was dirty. Downstairs TV was not hooked up, only one frying pan and one coffee cup. Property in need of some repair. Very poor performance by the company managing property, they refused to come out even though I highlighted the issues right after checkin. The recent (June & July) bad reviews are accurate.

We couldn’t stay there as the power was out due to the hurricane. The property manager offered us another property in lieu of this one. It was a lesser/cheaper property but they would not refund the difference. When we checked in to the other property it was filthy. They sent the cleaning crew over and they cleaned it right up. The pool was a mess and unusable and they never cleaned it. When I asked for some compensation for it the property manager stopped communicating with me. I will not rent from this property menegemwnt company again.

This house had many nice features and areas that need improvement. PRO: House was clean. * No sign of bugs or other pests at all. * Location was good. It is 150 steps from the beach. I’m 5’7” tall and measured with large strides. * bedrooms were as represented. *. You can see the ocean from both decks. * kitchen is good. Plenty of plates,etc. appliances work. *. Nice deck furniture on lower deck. *lower area has nice picnic areas, nice outdoor shower, very nice grill. *Plenty of towels, trash bags, etc. *washer and dryer are great *neighborhood is quiet*beach is private, uncrowded and clean CON: *deck has nails sticking up *floors have tape holding them together *downstairs tub drains poorly *some mattresses need to be replaced due to dipping centers *living room is tiny and we had to bring in deck furniture in for sitting space. The couch is a joke, absolutely awful *. One bar stool was broken *road noise is loud and drowns out ocean sounds This house served us well enough but evenings found us trying to gather in the living room and there just was not enough comfortable furniture or space. There were 8 of us. There is no beach equipment, chairs, etc at all. The house is not well represented in its photos. The manager was responsive. We did not get our entry code until thirty minutes before check in time. I won’t rent this one again but we were able to enjoy the high points, esp the beach. I will return to the neighborhood.

Horrible place!
This home should not be up for rent. It does not look anything like the pictures they are advertising and the home is in dire need of updating. That being said, we would have stayed all 3 nights of our vacation at this home even in the condition it is in. However, after night 1 we wake up to rodents that were on the KITCHEN COUNTER eating our food and their feces on the countertop as well! There were also ants all over the kitchen counters, all over one of the queen beds, a roach in the hallway and a rusty nail on the 3rd step up to the home just sticking out of the step. Thankfully none of our family stepped on it. I have been trying to work with BeachBox since we checked out of the home (within 24hrs of arrival) and they are not cooperating whatsoever to give us a refund. They offered us the $145 cleaning fee to be refunded - comical! I asked them if any of them would like to pay their hard earned money to stay in a vacation rental with rodents and insects and got no reply on that, along with the fact that not one of their employees can answer me on what their policy is regarding rodents and insects in a home! RUN from this property and this company! I highly recommend NOT renting with them. I have pictures of it all as well to back up my claims.

Overall Good
Location was good with a 'cheaters view' of the ocean. The house itself was good, very clean, with just a few minor issues. Make sure you have your passwords for the TV programs. Mosquitos were as expected. Dishwater machine struggled to work. We made the mistake of leaving our Pop-up on the beach Saturday (miscommunication on our part) and it was gone the next day. Beach was very nice and well kept. Overall, we had a really good time.

Closer to the beach than you think!
Is it "perfect?" No. The septic backed up twice (not into the house) and there were ants. The property manager had somebody out to pump the septic FAST. It still backed up again. The living room is tiny but you aren't there for the living room. You are there for the beach. The home is about 5 houses away from the beach but because of how the beach is arranged it is actually closer to the water than some VRBO's we've stayed at that were technically beachfront. Overall, a great stay with a responsive property manager. And yes, we got sunburned and loved it.
