The property and general location are what we were hoping for during our stay. However, for those driving an electric vehicle: the nearest charging station is a 45-minute walk away and there is no charging option onsite. Plan a hike around your charging time.
The property description lists chickens that roam free in the yard with eggs on request - we didn't see any chickens, but did see at least thirty cats roaming the property during our stay. The host mentioned most are feral and is part of a broader feral cat issue across France (I cannot speak to the truth of this claim). However, anyone staying should be prepared to interact with cats - seeing them, smelling their waste in the yard (beside the outdoor dining space), and, at least in our case, having one jump onto the bed through the roof window and racing wildly around the gite at 2am.
When we brought this to our host's attention, she dismissively said there was nothing she could do to control these cats on her property. Barring any further action by the host guests should be prepared for feline hijinks during their stay.
The pool was lovely and cleaned daily, however is not as private as stated in the description - the hosts still used the pool when we were out, but vacated the space when we got back. A tarp divider provides mild privacy between both properties, but guests should be aware the host residence & garden is directly next to the pool area.
The building has a charming character, and lots of potential.
