Weekend getaway

Beautiful home and property We enjoyed our 5 couple getaway. Ample kitchen supplies were available Upgrade mattresses and new pillows for several rooms would be nice for better sleeping.

Spacious Stay in a Great Lakeside Location

This is a beautiful, spacious home right on the shores of Seneca Lake. I would highly recommend it to families looking to relax at the lake, but within a 10 minute drive of the restaurants and shopping in Geneva. The property manager was very responsive when needed and easy to deal with. We grilled and enjoyed beautiful sunsets over the lake. The home was well equipped for cooking and entertaining. All in all, a very nice stay.

Birthday Getaway

We spent a few days at Five Gates to celebrate my 50th birthday. We had a fantastic time eating out, doing wine tastings and enjoying the beautiful views from the deck. 10 of us fit comfortably in this well appointed house.

ANNUAL OCTOBER WEEKEND

We've been doing an annual long October weekend with friends for 5 years now. We started out at another property on the shore of Keuka Lake but came across this property when the former had already been reserved. Ever since, we've return to this property every year and hope to continue our tradition.

Peaceful lakeside views

The house was spacious and as depicted in pictures. The kitchen was very well stocked. A few minor repairs were taken care of promptly by the property management. The deck was our favorite hangout pace to talk and enjoy the lovely lake view.

The Perfect Stay

We stayed at Five Gates with several couples while we were in town for a wedding at Zugibe Vineyards. The house was clean, comfortable, beautiful, and located in the perfect spot. We would love to stay again someday!

A Great Weekend!

We always look to book homes that can accommodate at least 3 couples with an ensuite full bathroom and shower. We've stayed at some very new, very large, beautiful properties on other Finger Lakes but Five Gates is the best of all the luxury homes we've visited. We will book another stay very soon and we look forward to it!

Friends’ Reunion

Our group of 10 college friends gathered at this great house on Seneca Lake. The layout of the house, sleeping accommodations and number of bathrooms worked so well. The sunsets were amazing. The house was very clean and fairly well appointed (the kitchen knives could use sharpening). We had an issue with the coffee maker and the property management company responded the same day by dropping off a new Keurig. It was a wonderful few days in the Finger Lakes.

Beautiful views, great location. Some pros & cons-

Pros: Great location & views. Spacious house. We had 4 couples, there was plenty of room for 8 inside. The kitchen was pretty well stocked with everything we needed. Sitting at the end of the dock was so relaxing and we caught a couple beautiful sunsets. The location is convenient to some wineries we wanted to visit. The fire table on the deck was perfect in the evenings and we used the grill one night for dinner. Some things that need attention: the ice maker doesn’t work in the fridge. If it’s not connected, a heads up to buy ice ahead of time would have helped. The smaller beverage fridge doesn’t work. Also the seating on the patio is very uncomfortable. We wanted to spend most of our time on the deck but the seating was limited. There are really only 2 comfortable chairs for spending any time on. The other issue was the upstairs got quite warm. The people who slept up there said it was too warm for comfort at night. Also no blinds on the upstairs bedroom windows made for very early (like 5:30 am) rising and there was no way to keep the sun out during the day. The down thermostat controlled those rooms but we really couldn’t get it cool enough.

Our week on Seneca Lake 15-22.

The home was laid out well,beds were comfortable, plumbing worked without issue, kitchen well appoointed and stocked with utensils etc. Air conditioning worked very well. Dock worked well as we brought water toys, had no boat but it was fine. Very peaceful on this lake. No boat traffic and noise. Relaxing week. House carpeting was not clean, green moss along water front smelled like sewage despite a heavy rainfall a couple of nights, refrigerator side leaked water from day one, washer dryer worked very well, storage and closets and bathhrooms were in good order. Lots to do on this lake and found some excellent restaurants, wineries, and breweries. Would like to have been warned about the green algae as not sure if it is a health issue. Does it happen every year? Is is all along the East side of the lake? We enjoyed our week.
