"This was an awesome place to stay in Gladwin, right on the water of Lake Lancer. We plan an ice fishing trip each year with work colleges and this is one of the best layouts we have seen for sleeping 13 people, hanging out in the common area and playing games in the dinner room, proximity to the water, and close to a few more lakes in the area that are good for fishing, there is also a trailhead about 20 min to the west that leads up to Houghton Lake area. "The Cabbage is a cozy, charming updated cabin near a small, private lake. Situated in a wooded area, the property is large and includes a garage with kayaks. Beds are comfy and lots of small amenities included. One close neighbor but they were not on site while we were there. Lots of things to do in the small area towns. "This charming cottage was perfect for myself and 2 friends. The weather eas rainy but cleared for beautiful sunsets. We even saw Northern lights. If the temperatures were warmer we would of kayaked. We had fun playing games, doing puzzles and takjng a day trip to Alpena. I would rent this cottage again when the weather is warmer to kayak and play in the lake."

"We selected this place due to its access to Houghton Lake and because it was a great home base to be able to venture out and see various sites in Northern Michigan. It did not disappoint. The place was spotless with a small stock of snacks/beverages upon arrival. We had some confusion about using the door code to get in and the property manager walked us thru it immediately - very helpful. Just be aware that if you intend to do a trip that will entail washing clothes, this place does not...

"Cute cabin, my nieces enjoyed the loft area. I just don't understand why they charge a large cleaning fee then ask the guests to wash & put away all dishes, round up all the towels and put them in the tub and strip the beds & pillows. Taking out the trash and cleaning your items from the refrigerator I get, but not the other stuff...unless you cut down the cleaning fee!"
