"We really enjoyed our stay at the lodge on Bassenthwaite Lake. The lodge was spacious and comfortable---well equipped for everything we needed for our three night stay. It was in a great setting, just yards from the water and very quiet. It was well located for visiting other areas of the Lake District, including restaurants and a distillery close by and the market town of Keswick and Derwentwater about 15 minutes away. We would definitely stay here again on a return trip to the Lake District. "

"We had a get together with family who haven’t seen each other in several years. The house was perfect for us as it had plenty of space, lots of bedrooms/bathrooms, making it a very comfortable stay even with a large group. The communication with the property manager was great! "We stayed here over the August Bank Holiday (4 adults) and had a lovely time. The cottage was conveniently located in a side street in the centre of Windermere with plenty of free parking nearby. "Owners of Cottage provided a phone number to call one week before our arrival. Numerous attempts each day and "no one" answered the phone. And there wasn't any way to leave a message. On our way to the unit, we had an emergency, one member, in the emergency room for 3 hours. I tried getting hold of the unit, no response so I called VRBO. We had to cancelled because I could not speak with the owner about our situation and their accommodations. Request complete refund."

"It really IS a working farm with real hard working people there who care.Matthew recieved some pygmy goats while we were there and it was fun to see them. The place was thoughtfully decorated and spacious. If you are very tall you need to be carefull here. It is in an old stone structure that has some recent modern upgrades. Very warm and cozy. A 5 minute walk from the front door gets you a million dollar view. TONs of great hiking and mountain biking options nearby. We would gladly stay here...

"Loved the property and location and the owner of the property was very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed our stay immensely. Only problem with the holiday was being able to communicate with the property management company as they could not contact us as they had wrong email information. It did not matter in the end as we spoke to the property owner and he was very helpful and obliging."
