"Just as advertised! Large property, although the hike back up the hill from the beach was a bit taxing (but that's just me being out of shape). The hikes through the conservation area were great being so close. Our teens also loved the canoe and kayak that were available too! "

"We had a lovely time at the cottage. The air was great, the drinking water excellent, the stars and the moon were enchanting, as were sunrise and the sunset. We patronized the local businesses and found all the people extremely friendly. Because of our age limitations we were unable to use the canoe, kayak or pedal boat. Host was readily available to answer questions and even stopped by to deliver family board games. I loved that the home was pet friendly as well. "This island is a great spot to relax and unwind. Set in a beautiful bay with an array of fish. We enjoyed swimming off the west side of the island and managed to catch most of our fish off that side as well. The cottage has everything you need and then some. We managed to rent our own boat through Perth Boat rentals and enjoyed heading into town for a day and fishing for hours. The provincal park is a kayak trip away. "Our family (2 daughters, 3 grandsons 8-23) had a super week on Varty Lake. The Cottage is very comfortable and the two rooms were good for young & older. Kitchen well equipped. Lots of supplies, towels etc. Having the canoe, kayak, paddleboat, two paddle boards was amazing and all were used and enjoyed. Biking along the roads & Cataraqui trail was great. Swimming was good. "We absolutely loved our time at this cottage. The property was spacious and clean. View was absolutely breathtaking. We travelled with four adults and four children ranging from six to fourteen and a dog. We found the cottage clean and fully equipped. We loved the guests drinks in the fridge ready to welcome us. Bed linen and towels were well organized and clean. There were lots of games and movies for everyone to enjoy as well as an abundance of water equipment we all enjoyed all weekend....

"We very much enjoyed our stay. The hosts are wonderful - friendly, flexible, accommodating, great communication. Cozy, comfortable cottage, with everything ready for a fun time. We appreciated having access to a few different boats, as well as the library and games room. The lake is beautiful, with a charming little town nearby. The water was very calm when we were there, and we saw a ton of fish jumping. There are other cottages close by on the property, which limits privacy somewhat."
