This is the only ski cabin I've ever rented where it was obvious that no one had made any effort to clear a path to the house in a very long time. Not only was the driveway buried, but so were the lower windows you see in this photo. The external stairs were inaccessible, and it was a slippery course to the hot tub on the 2nd story deck. Makeshift "steps" were trudged into the snow along the steep driveway, which make for perilous car unpacking and child transporting. The caretaker who was departing the house as we were leaving basically told us to "get a run at" the driveway and chock some wood under the tires to prevent backsliding. Meanwhile, bare driveways were to be seen next door and across the street -- it can be done!
The interior was great. The ground level has a big TV and "rumpus room" vibe, and the bunk room and one bathroom was also on that level. The main living space was one level up, with a well appointed kitchen and a cozy wood stove + seating area. Another bathroom and queen bedroom was on this level. The third level contained a loft space with a queen bed (no door to that bedroom) and another reading/living space with a foosball table. Plenty of room for our 2 families and four young kids!
There were lots of board games and books for entertainment. There were plenty of dishes and a nice big fridge.
Another helpful hint: It would be nice if there were a label on one of the wall switches to identify the furnace control. It took us a day to figure out how to keep the cabin warm after the fire went out! Also, some instructions on figuring out the TV + fire stick would have saved us some frustrations.
