Another Great Stay
This is our third visit to the Writer's Cabin in Grand Marais. Such a lovely spot! Off the beaten path but so close to everything--the harbor, downtown, restaurants. We love this little gem and will definitely be back. Thank you Todd and Susan!

Perfect Location and Size
Very convenient to downtown but quiet and secluded. Easy access to all the nearby hiking trails and beyond. Clean and comfortable. Perfect for 1 or 2 people. Kitchen was well appointed.

We have stayed at Todd and Susan’s properties at least 5 times (maybe more?) on our visits to Grand Marais. Consistent great communication, friendly hosts and comfortable accommodations! Location can’t be beat!

We loved staying at the little Writer’s Cabin. It’s a cozy space, beautifully and practically renovated, and very close to downtown and NHFS. It was super convenient to be able to walk to classes and around town.

Great time in Grand Marais
Great location for walking through the town. Quiet, yet convenient. Private. Comfortable lodging. Bedroom is a little tight. The hosts were very communicative and gave us great information for in town hiking. This was our first time in Grand Marais and we are missing it all ready.

Cozy Location
Perhaps not the most scenic location in Grand Marais, but certainly a cozy getaway within walking walking distance to all the great attractions. If you're looking for a little solitude in the middle of Grand Marais, this is the spot. Met our needs and was a great stay.

Great location!
And a sweet little cabin as well! We were in Grand Marais for a class at the North House Folk School and the Writer’s Cabin is basically across the street! By some amazing restaurants. And next to a sauna! And steps away from the lake! It just doesn’t get better. The cabin is small, but super efficient. It had everything we needed! Even decent knives and cookware. Our pup loved it and Todd and Susan provided towels and sheets for furniture pup protection. We appreciated that! Lessens the stress for sure. If you need doggy day care Josiah at Rocky Knoll was terrific. We had an amazing week in Grand Marais and this cabin definitely helped make it so!

Cozy and convenient
Has everything you need, including a jacuzzi, for an enjoyable in-town vacation. The cabin is quiet with good light, with a short walk to the lake and the town center. Very nice!

Great cozy stay in Grand Marais!
We enjoyed staying in this cabin for a couple days. The living room, bed room, and bathroom were just what we needed. The kitchen was a bit small, but was not a problem during our stay. Lovely jacuzzi. This house was in a great location: we easily walked to dinner both nights and walked around to explore Grand Marais

Easy walk to town—art galleries, restaurants, shopping. Wonderful park on the harbor. Grand Marais is lovely harbor town. Owners very responsive, friendly and helpful.

First snow
We enjoyed the first snow and the cold; the beautiful winter light; appreciated hike suggestion of owners through the campground and the info about the great dog park up 5th Ave W. Loved the sauna and the convenience of walking most places. Was quiet and owners accessible to answer questions.

Great Location, great hosts
This house is right in the heart of Grand Marais. It is very clean and well appointed. It is pretty small and would be tight for more than 2. We loved being able to bring our 2 small digs and the yard accommodated them well. Al in all a wonderful Northshore getaway!
