We had been looking for a place to spend our vacation week since our normal totally off the grid place was cancelled. This had more amenities than we are used to on our typical vacation, and those made the stay so much easier.
Brad and Linda have carefully prepared the camp so it has all of the things you might need from paper goods (plates, cups, paper towels, toilet paper, utensils, etc) to cooking essentials (pots, pans, microwave, toaster oven). Dishes, mugs, and silverware including a knife block and coffee maker (and liners :). Everything was esily found as bins were neatly labeled, and even had shampoo, soap, razors, toothbrushes and toothpaste if needed. Additionally, there were plenty of pillows, blankets, linens, towels, and beach towels for use.
We used the paddle boat and adult yellow kayak a lot as well as the fishing canoe, though we did bring our second kayak and our solo canoe for wonderful treks on the small but beautiful pond where we frequently saw two beavers and the lone loon.
We didn't use the fire pit, though we could have and had planned to, but instead enjoyed hours on the deck with coffee and playing cards and monopoly. They had several games, a lot of books, and many guides for thr area available as well. Our 10 year old son also enjoyed a few of the DVD movies that they have there.
The outdoor shower is a must! A beautiful lake view and lovely hot water...doesn't get much better than that. The composting toilet is easy to use, though occasionally, you do get a waft of air from it that is unpleasant, but we are used to using an outhouse on our vacation, so this was not too shabby. There was a motion light to the outdoor bathroom and flashlights were also easily accessible for those night trips to the bathroom.
Overall, a lovely small, well maintained camp that was perfect for our little family to get away to. Thank you so much for sharing it with us!
