Riverside relaxation
Big, airy house on a secluded, peaceful lot along the banks of the historic Choptank River. Pool was ultra-clean at a perfect temperature. Short drive to all of the cool eastern shore Chesapeake towns. The hosts were hospitable, responsive, and they respected our privacy. We’d surely return to this unique property!

Hidden Gem For Sure!!
My husband and I wanted a quick, quiet getaway and this sure was the place to go! Surrounded by water and woods your feel at one with nature, and and added benefit was looking at the stars from the hot tub on the deck! The house is beautiful and fully stocked with everything we needed to make a nice meal for ourselves. The hosts were fabulous and in contact with us constantly from check in to check out! It has a pool and a beautiful deck that you can sit on and enjoy the peaceful sound of the water, I would absolutely book again and urge anyone who wants a quiet getaway to consider this property!!!! You won’t regret it!!!

great vacation in Maryland
We had a very relaxing time on our 2 week stay. Even though Alison & Chris were traveling they saw to getting any issues solved. the pool was great & the fenced in yard was great for our 85 lb lab but we had to reinforce some low areas for our son’s 17 lb skinny crazy dog that like to find ways out. All turned out find. The kitchen was great and we made wonderful meals and used the grill as well. there were great farm stands very close by and we ate in Denton a couple of times at Caroline’s it was very good. Went over to the ocean 45 mins on Delaware’s side and went to Lewes where you can catch the ferry to Cape May in NJ but we didn’t do that, maybe next time. Such a great place to stay.

Beautiful, private property for relaxing in nature
We had a great stay at this beautiful property. We really appreciated the large fenced in yard for our dogs, and the owner communicating to let us know where some small gaps under the fence were and offering to help block them (we have a very small dog who could have wiggled under- bigger dogs would be fine.) The king bed was so comfortable, and the hot tub and pool were delightful. We hope to return!

Wonderful getaway
Alison and Chris were very generous hosts. We were originally scheduled to stay during the weekend in June in which the sky was smoky and outdoor alerts had been issued. They kindly allowed us to switch to August and we just returned from a perfect weekend. This property is beautiful and well-equipped for a fun time. We focused on the needs of our 1 year old grandson. It was his first introduction to a real swimming pool and he loved it! The pool is just beautiful. We also found that we had an empty gas tank for the grill. Chris immediately ran out and brought a new one so that we could enjoy our cookout. I highly recommend this beautiful property!

Retreat to nature!
Wow! From the moment we turned down the dirt road for Moot Point, we were greeted with an hawk swooping to say hello and beautiful scenery. What an amazing experience we had at this hidden gem tucked away on the Choptank River with lots of privacy and all of the amazing resources of nature surrounding us. We saw hawks, osprey (with a nest right next to the dock), a blue heron that would visit across from the dock every day, cardinals and although not seen, we heard a woodpecker hard at work too. We fished every day from from the dock and caught tons and tons of catfish and some white and yellow perch. We used the seive net and found minnows and even a small eel. We swam, canoed, paddle boarded and mudded around with the texture of the bottom of the river being one of our kids (9 and 7) favorite things to get into and play with. We found tree frogs and toads galore and used the pool and hot tub almost every day. The house is wonderful with tons of natural light and space. The kitchen is well equipped to cook. The beds were very comfortable! Alison and Chris were exceptional hosts ensuring we fully experienced th Choptank River and Eastern Shores by giving us info on restaurants, historic towns, and more than enough things to do. Alison was kind enough to show us around the river with her paddle board. My husband said it was exactly what he needed and I agree. we all felt rested and rejuvenated by the end. I can't say enough about this place, and we can't wait to return!!

River Relaxation…Wonderful
This house is so nice! The outdoor setting is beautiful- river views, wooded and serene. There was a pool , hot tub and a dock ( which was perfect for sunset views, kayaking and fishing). Everyone in our group caught a fish. The yard was gated if you bring your dog. I miss it already.

We had a wonderful vacation. Chris and Alison were great to work with, gave us wonderful recommendations for restaurants and shops. This house was a great place to just take a deep breath and relax with family.

Retreat on the River
This house provided the quiet country retreat we needed. Hiking trails with the kids and dogs, fishing off the pier, canoeing on the river and hot tub to relax. We will be back again!

A Choptank/Moot Point New Year!
My wife and our 4yo dog, Milo had the pleasure of staying at Ali and Chris' lovely property over New Year's week. We had a grand time celebrating our 30th Anniversary and enjoying both being surrounded by nature while also being pampered by all of the little touches provided. Ali and Chris were both welcoming and caring hosts while also being always respectful of our time away. From the well stocked kitchen, to the hot tub warmed and ready, to making recommendations for local restaurants, parks, trails, to fantastic views. to the large private dock out to midst of the river, the dog bed thst Milo loved, to just being friendly, and gracious...one couldn't have asked for better. Milo, in particular loved walking along the river, and the large completely fenced in natural back yard to run around. One of my favorite things was coffee in the morning on the deck watching hawks with Milo...he slept for 3 days after we got home! We also had fun exploring the area and look forward to doing so again on a potential future visit. Thanks to Ann, and Ali, and Chris, and Emily, and Becca...for being so welcoming, kind, and warm. And for sharing your slice of paradise for a while. Hoping to come back soon if you will have us. Love to all. -Bridgid, Larry, and Milo.

Restful. Wonderful getaway. Wish I had been informed that the fireplace didn't work and the heated swimming pool was already closed up. Also this house does have a steep staircase for older folks.

We had a wonderful time, a real getaway.
The house and property were beautiful! Plenty of room for 5 of us and 2 dogs. We were in the pool daily and it was mostly shaded all day, which made it great for avoiding sunburns and the heating kept it a nice refreshing 79 degrees all the time. The hot tub was nice and hot and relaxing. The yard was fully and securely fenced, my dogs always look for weakness in fences and they didn't find any, great for my peace of mind. The trail to the dock was pretty and well maintained. My kids learned to fish and caught their first fish, they were so excited! All the kayaks and vests and paddles were very nice. The kids learned to kayak and had a wonderful time on the river. The more experienced adults had a lot of fun on the water too. We had a nice drive to Cape Henlopen and fun at the beach. Getting to stores and restaurants didn't take long either. Sitting around the fire pit, next to the river was a great place to see shooting stars too. Really love this place, Thanks for letting us stay!

Great family vacation
This was a superb vacation home for a family. There was so much to do without leaving, from the pool to paddle boards, the walking paths around the property and all the exciting wildlife in and near the river. Alison and Chris were excellent hosts and made us feel right at home. Highly recommend!

We love staying at this property on the Choptank river they had absolutely everything you need for a perfect family vacation - pool hot tub river paddle boards kayaks canoes you name it Just check in and don’t even worry about leaving -everything you need to do is right in front of you!!!! Birthday Week Get Away
Wonderful stay in such an idyllic setting. So relaxing just to be in the present with all the beautiful nature that surrounded us. Loved sitting on the dock in the adirondack chairs watching the boats go by. Used the kayaks provided and enjoyed swimming everyday in the pool.

5 star 8 nights vacation!
Chris, thank you so much for taking care of us this past week! You are a wizard of cleaning the pool - we have never seen it more clean than after your visits. :) Alison, many thanks for managing the whole operation remotely! You have allowed our communication to be easy and smooth. The 3 of us had a wonderful 8 nights stay! Did not want, nor was there any reason, to leave the property other than 1 grocery shop. Bring your own fresh fish though - the nearby Food Lion only has it frozen. Concur with all other positive reviews of this property and especially the owners!

Wonderful long weekend on the river
Alison and Chris' beautiful place on the Choptank River provided the perfect setting for a wonderful long weekend away from the city. House is beautiful, very comfortable, and far enough off the to block most sounds other than those of the geese and other forest/river inhabitants. We lounged in the hot tub, explored the farm, and enjoyed some of the history of the area - the old wharfs, Underground Railroad, and antique shops. Will definitely look forward to coming back during warmer temperatures to enjoy kayaking and other river activities.
