Felt like we really were in a forest and only 5 minutes up the hill from the super market and the beach. Very peaceful and quiet. Didn't even mind the rooster alarm every morning.

AMAZING stay on the North Shore

Could not recommend this place enough! The property is gorgeous and in a quiet area, perfect for a peaceful getaway. The beach is quick 5 min drive. Highly recommend getting a rental car, it would be a difficult walk to the shore.

Fantastic Location!!

We absolutely loved staying here and would stay again. It’s just around the corner from the Weimeia Waterfalls trail, Pipeline and sharks cove for amazing snorkeling. There is a grocery store and lots of food trucks. Fantastic location!! The only cons would be the pull out couch bed was really uncomfortable and not level. Pillows/mattress cover-old and stained. The property and such are older than appeared in the pictures. Still the kitchen was fully stocked and they had snorkels, beach chairs and beach towels. Had an amazing time!

Up on a hilltop

Beautiful property highlighted by a large porch overlooking a forest - great for morning coffee and evening refreshments. Kitchen and dining amenities are functional and well used. Bed and pullout couch were comfortable, although four occupants is a little awkward as the only bathroom is in the master suite.The property is located in the heart of the North Shore; however, we were surprised that the house is only accessible by a steep, winding car ride uphill - great views on the ride up, but not suitable for access by walking or hiking. Biking or hiking to town or to the beach from this property is not an option. As mentioned in the listing, a family lives in the floor above, and they are active (and audible) around 6:00 am every morning. We are early risers so this was not a problem for us. All in all, we had a wonderful stay.

Beautiful stay

Check in was really easy with clear instructions. The property is in a beautiful location, a short drive to the beach, Sunrise Shack, and Ehukai pillbox hike. My friends slept on the main bed said it was comfortable, however the pullout couch was quite thin. The AC system is only in the living room but worked quite well. The owners live on the floor above and we could hear every footstep, but they were fairly quiet from 9 pm - 6 am. The kitchen is well-equipped for cooking and I appreciated having beach towels to use. Overall a nice stay, but I would keep in mind the noise.

Great stay in wonderfully lush green environment in perfect location

We really enjoyed our stay in this lush, quiet environment. The house is beautiful and you have everything you need to have. In the morning you are welcomed with a beautiful green scenery while the birds are singing their morning songs. Pipe and all the other magnificent surf spots are just a few minutes away. This place is incredible. We stayed in the appartment with 2 couples, we cooked a lot and had a wonderful stay and had everything we needed. The only drawback was the quality of the sofa bad, the matras is really thin and makes a lot of noice. Other then that this is a gem.Enjoy, wish we could come back soon!

Perfect but not clean

A very nice location to spend a few days in the north, the location is perfect for excursions and enjoying the North Shore. Unfortunately, the apartment wasn't really clean when we arrived; the dishes, stove, refrigerator and microwave were very used and dirty. The floor was dirty and we wrote to the landlord. The next day the floor was cleaned again. The beds weren't very comfortable. The accommodation is perfect due to the location and size, but we cannot recommend it due to the cleanliness.

Lovely Retreat

Stayed here for part of a trip with my wife in November and had a great time. The space is very comfortable with its own little balcony overlooking the yard and forest where we spent a lot of time reading and relaxing in both rain and shine. The location is great for accessing North Shore tourist attractions, like the Waimea Valley and Haleiwa town, and being close to a grocery store makes it very livable for longer stays where you do some of your own cooking. Highly recommend and would visit again.

My family is from Oahu, so visiting is always broken down into things to do with my wife and kids, and things to do with family. This space in Pupukea allowed us to have our own space away from all the action. We live in Cali now and driving 45-60 min to get somewhere isnt uncommon, so if we wanted to go to town or Kaneohe we look forward to the nice drive, stop and grabbing snacks. Either way, at the end of the day our home base was perfect; down the street from Foodland, Sharks Cove (for the kids) and popular North Shore beaches and food spots. The wrap around deck was so nice, overlooking the forest and the lush backyard was exactly what we wanted to come home to while we were here. The keurig broke the first morning, I texted property manager and they dropped off a new one within ‘minutes.’ AC was nice, but honestly, where the unit is positioned, its always nice and cool, just open up the windows. Really cool backyard to go walk around and get grounded. We have kids so it was nice to hear the owners kids playing upstairs, made us less self conscious about our noisy kids, lol. Overall it was a great trip home and this space served its purpose as home base for us after long days of action.

Mixed feelings about this property

This is a convenient base for exploring the North Shore, close to beaches, food trucks, restaurants and a supermarket. It has a porch with a gorgeous forest view in a quiet neighborhood with many birds and an outdoor seating area. There are beach chairs, snorkeling equipment, kitchen and coffee machine, and washer/dryer to use. However, the place is not as bright and clean as it seems in the photos. It was dusty and had a musty smell. It felt like living in a finished basement. The bathroom tub was stained. A screen door fell off the tracks onto my wife, which hurt her shoulder. You hear loud footsteps and muffled voices from the family that lives above at all hours of the day. The bed dipped in one corner. This place could be a good fit for you, so long as you understand exactly what you are renting. Hope this helps.

Fun Quick Stay

This property was perfect for what we needed. It was nice to be able to experience the north shore. We’d spent most of the week in Ko Olina and Honolulu so this was a nice change. Access was easy, location was nice, there was food and grocery close by for anything we needed. Would stay again.

Pupukea Hills Stay

House is in a gorgeous neighborhood tucked in the hills above Pupukea. Location is convenient to Waimea Bay, Sharks Cove, Foodland, and Haleiwa. Would stay again!
