The Harrisburg home was quite stunning & clearly loved and well-maintained. The location was nice in terms of walking to the river, market, and other midtown spots. What was challenging was the parking. We opted not to buy a pass for street parking and chose to use the owners' garage spot instead; I regret that choice, as the walk back and forth to the garage was longer than I realized and hard to do with my kids (9 and 7) at the end of long days at Hersheypark. Everything was clean, the beds were comfortable, and we generally enjoyed our stay. It would have been nice to have a larger soft space for our family to hang out, but the front room and dining room were enough. The provided K-cups, water bottles, and chips were a lovely touch. We initially had trouble with the keypad, but eventually got it.I would caution families with younger kids about choosing this property - since it is a historic house, you have to be clear w/ kids about house rules (if you're like me, you'll spend the whole time worried about your kids accidentally breaking all the glass/ceramic decor). For instance, there is a strict no shoes policy to protect the floors. My kids were great about that, but the vibe felt like we were staying in a museum & had to be cautious about what we touched/moved/used. It didn't feel like a home where we could fully relax after long days in the city & Hersheypark. This is NOT a criticism of the owners in any way, just an observation for others to consider when booking.
