The room was clean, spacious and had a stunning view of the countryside. The water sometimes ran brown, but this is probably the only negative comment to be said. Food has always been very nice here. "From the moment we arrived, to the moment we left, we had nothing but friendly attentive service from the staff at the pub. We were fortunate to be upgraded from a room in the pub to one of the relatively new lodges. The lodge was immaculate on arrival and very comfortable and well equipped. We had breakfast included and this was first class with locally sourced food included. We had two evening dinners at the pub and both were excellent from the very varied menu on offer. "

"Had a lovely stay in the Owl's Roost. The hosts were so kind and couldn't have been more helpful. It was so peaceful being surrounded by fields. The cabin was very clean and beautifully decorated, and the bed was comfy! We will be returning again in the future."

"A great welcome after a long delayed trip. Our room was excellent, clean tidy with comfortable beds & quality bedding. Super large walk in shower room. Breakfast was superb. Staff very helpful & friendly. The location is perfect for a 10 minute walk into Barnstaple town centre along the promenade by the river. An excellent stay, shame it was only for one night. Highly recommend."

"Absolutely lovely. The accommodation is excellent - a superior barn conversion. Really fabulous on a working farm. Hen Curtis was very friendly as well as her dogs Fido (retired sheep dog) Jumble mixed Labby/Poodle, Pinto young sheep dog. All love a good bit of stroking (not Hen!!!!). Relaxing place to be with great walks on and around the farm. Not to be missed."
