Great place to stay while exploring the east side of the Big Island or just hanging out enjoying the views and the sounds of the ocean. Communication with the owner is excellent. Have been here on 3 previous occasions and plan to return again.

We will never forget that deck overlooking that Pacific Ocean- high above looking at surfers to the right, waves crashing on the rocks below, and vast open ocean all around. It's all about the view, but the house is nice and comfortable.

We have had a fabulous 4 nights at this beautiful home in Hilo. It’s in a lovely, very quiet neighborhood. It’s a very short drive from downtown Hilo, but feels like you’re in a very different place. The home is comfortable and cozy and the outdoor space is to die for. The lanai is huge and overlooks the ocean with beautiful cliffs and amazing waves. It will make you want to spend all your time outside! We did cook breakfast and dinner on a couple of nights and found the kitchen very well stocked with everything we needed. It doesn’t hurt that it also has an incredible view in every direction, so food prep was quite enjoyable. We truly enjoyed eating on the lanai, too. We saw spinner dolphins in the mornings and could see the surfers down the beach. If you’re looking for a slick, luxury resort, this might not be your spot, but if you’re looking for a very comfortable home to enjoy the view and total relaxation, you will love it here. We stayed in 4 towns while exploring the island and this home is the one we want to come back to. Thank you. Saul, for all your help, great communication and the use of your lovely home. We hope to be back!

This house is a perfect getaway location. Sits above the ocean with unobstructed views. You can watch the whales jump from every room of the house. Saul wast a wonderful host with tons of local knowledge. This home has all the modern day amenities needed but with the feel of an old school Hawaiian home. Will definitely book a stay for next year. This house will not disappoint.

Very accomodating host; supplied over and beyond what most vrbo hosts do. Saw whales nearly every day! Spacious, wonderful location for exploring this beautiful side of the island. Very relaxing amd no street noise! Generally clean but could use a more thorough, deep cleaning. Very comfortable bed.

This is our second stay at Saul’s house. This home is absolutely fantastic! The views and location are perfect! It’s cozy and a great place to relax and unwind! We enjoyed our time on the lanai watching whales and listening to the waves. Cant wait to visit again! Highly recommend!

Down a beautiful, quiet street, you will find the most amazing vacation rental near Hilo. A perfect place for exploring all the charms of Hilo town and the entire area. As soon as we drove up, we knew we had arrived at a special place. A Hawaiian “cabin” with all that you need for a relaxing , restorative stay. The home is comfortable, the neighbors are friendly and the outdoor spaces right above the crashing surf are incredible. Oh, and an outdoor shower! Saul, is a wonderful host and an incredible human that we were fortunate to meet. He seriously wants you to have a wonderful experience at his home. In hindsight,I wish we’d stayed longer, but we had planned 4 nights in Kona after we left “Saul’s place.” I’d love to return someday and would choose to stay a little longer and skip Kona. I would recommend this home to anyone, looking for an immersive vacation. I can’t say enough about how wonderful our stay was. I am forever grateful for the opportunity.

We so enjoyed our stay here. It is an older home but well maintained, very comfortable bed and an amazing view from the large lanai/covered patio that has to be seen to be believed. The neighborhood is quiet which was perfect for us and the house has a well stocked kitchen.

An amazing view, an amazing place. We loved being immersed in the sound of the waves below and ate all our meals out on the deck, watching the ships sail by and the dolphins frolic. The host's description of this wonderful old house is very accurate. It is not your standard modern beachfront condo. It is comfortable and peaceful and host Saul was very responsive. Mahalo, Saul, for sharing this magical spot.

A spectacular ocean view and a home which makes you feel at home - but more than that - the chance to feel spiritual, relaxed and feel that you’re being taken care of - island style. The property owner was very respectful of our privacy but let us know he was very open to any questions or suggestions we might have. We will definitely come back.

This house is exactly as advertised! The location is amazing. We loved the lanai and falling asleep and waking up to the sounds of the ocean. Outdoor shower was a big hit. Quiet location, well-stocked. It has a homey, "cabin-like" feel on the inside. Saul is a great host and super easy to communicate with. Would definitely return!

The view from this property cannot be beat! This house has everything you would need for a great, relaxing stay...the view makes you not want to go explore the island. The house is as advertised, it is not a resort experience, but it IS homey, comfortable and makes you appreciate island life! Saul is a great host - he was prompt in correcting a check-in hiccup the day we arrived. He could not have been more accomodating. We cannot recommend this house enough....loved everything about it.

The home feels excluded from everything but the host made it feel like you were welcome to the community. If you wish to hear the waves crash on the rocks and enjoy a perfect sunrise (weather permitting) then Saul's place is the spot to be at on your getaway from the norm. Thank you Saul for allowing me and my wife to enjoy your stunning home and location. Hope to be back again someday.

Great place to stay - just as advertised. While not fancy or luxurious, it is very nice, comfortable and clean and in a spectacular location. Having morning coffee on lanai overlooking the ocean cannot be beat. Probably the best stocked kitchen in rental that we have ever had. Saul is an attentive (in a very good way) host. He provides great welcoming touches, including a bottle of wine and fresh cut flowers.

After a long day of visiting Hawaii Volcano National Park and other attractions. It was wonderful to settle into this wonderful home after a long day. Love the deck, views and listening to the crashing waves below, very relaxing and home provided us with all the comforts of our own home. Saul is a great host and responded quickly to all my questions. Mahalo Saul!
