"The property was very clean and comfortable. Nicely decorated and bright. The beds were lovely and comfortable and the area very peaceful and quiet. Lovely garden to enjoy too. Just a few minutes by car into Barnard Castle - Barnard Castle was such a pleasant surprise. Fab meal in the Three Horseshoes. We loved the area with the river to walk alongside and the impressive attractions in the area - like High Force, Bowes Museum (wow!) and Beamish. We will visit again."

"The lodge was perfect. Spotlessly clean and pretty and everything you could need. However what made our holiday absolutely perfect was the garden the lodge is set in. Stunningly beautiful, magical grounds that you could see from all sides of the lodge. With a folly perfect for an outdoor fire and BBQ. Central to all of the North East and Durham attractions. I have been twice now and can’t wait to go again. Magical!"

"We were a party of 10, getting together to celebrate the 60th birthday party of 2 family members. The house was beautiful, plenty of room for everyone, although to be honest we spend most of our time in the cosy but large kitchen and adjacent games room. Many period features allowed you to really experience how they used to love. Kirby Stephen high street was a stones throw away, making it convenient for local shops and pubs. Would highly recommend for a large family get together"

"We had a week’s stay at Orton Hall in Nell Gwyn Cottage. The front room and bedroom were comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped, but it all felt a bit dated. The grounds were lovely, but unfortunately it rained every day we stayed there, so we couldn’t really explore them. However, we did discover a chocolate factory in the village which we very much enjoyed, as well as a very tasty cafe for a full English breakfast nearby. It’s centrally located for visits to both the Yorkshire Dales...

"The four of us had a wonderful stay in Dunkeld Cottage. The stone cottage was lovely - though the two tall men had to learn to duck at the kitchen door! The living spaces and bedrooms were very comfortable and the kitchen was fantastic, with top-quality Siemens stove top and oven, a good dishwasher and much appreciated washer and dryer. "Had a lovely stay and would revisit. Staff were extremely welcoming and nothing was an issue. We were not aware the facilities were being refurbished and disappointed the pool and hot tub were too cold to enjoy. Hopefully their refurb is complete on our next visit and we can enjoy the whole package. Rooms need to have brighter lighting available as quite dark."
