Lovely Stay
We enjoyed the charming, spacious, and relaxing cabin, especially the unbeatable lake views and access. It was absolutely gorgeous in the autumn mornings. The hot tub was amazing too. Thank you!

Perfect family getaway.
Marc was a wonderful host and attentive to every need. We loved the location, amenities, and views of the lake. Unfortunately, we had a very wet week, but the sunroom was a lifesaver. Also enjoyed movie watching in front of the big gas fireplace and relaxing around the fire pit when we had a dry evening.

We loved this cozy cabin! It had all the amenities and was so easy to feel at home right away. We used the kayak and canoe to explore the lake and loved the dock. The location was convenient and super close to the state park. We couldn’t ask for anything more in a weekend getaway.

The house was clean and comfortable. Good view of the lake. we enjoyed sitting around the fire pit (too warm for a fire) but great view of the lake and very comfortable with a nice breeze. The house was a little on the dark side, but the sunroom was very bright and comfortable. the only negative was the wood on the dock and the walkway/stairway to the dock was very rough, easy to pick up splinters and couple areas were tripping hazards. The bottom dock where you'd swim from had no furnishing and nowhere to hang towels, caps, sandals etc., the table and chairs on the top deck needs a good power washing. overall the amenities were great and we did not want for anything, and we would certainly stay there again.

Wonderful cottage on Smith Mountain Lake
The cottage is wonderful! Stocked with all that you might need. Location is great! The cove the cottage is located in is really great. Easily can get to get deep water/ main channel and the dock is so nice. Thank you for hosting a great weekend!

Great get away!!
My wife and I had a wonderful time at Sweet By and By. The cottage was cozy and clean. It was nice having water toys there so we did not have to carry more with us. The hot tub in the evenings was wonderful. Marc the owner was readily available if we needed anything and super kind. Cannot wait to come back here again!

33 yrs Anniversary
The place is even better than the pictures! We arrived in time to watch the Eclipse from the backyard ! Stargazing by the firepit was Spectacular! The Ramulose winery was closed but opened for us and they are a wonderful couple! State park had Amazing sunset from fishing dock ! We used the fire place every day and enjoyed the hot tub n use of grill. We only wish we had booked for longer ! Communication w owner Marc was excellent ! We would most definitely love to return!

Very comfortable, clean, lake front property. Brought our 12 year old dog along. Multi level open staircase from back porch to dock. This was a challenge for an old dog. Amenities were nice, especially the large hot tub.

Wonderful home away from away!
The house was better than the listing gives it credit. Communication with Marc was easy, he was quick & before and during our stay. House is in a great spot, loved the sunroom and hot tub. I think only our dog loved the house more than my hudband and myself. Personally, I enjoyed all of the trees even though there was some unwanted debris, nothing a provided broom couldn’t handle. Cant wait to book our next stay, I think next time we'll have to stay the full week.

Peaceful with a good time
This stay was just what we needed. The place had tons of entertainment that we used from the kayak and canoe to the board games. We even were able to bring the dog so he could enjoy. The dock during the day is a great place to hangout and we spent a lot of time at the water. Taking the canoe out and going around to the the coves of the lake was so much fun. Just have to watch out for the jet ski on the lake. Then we ended the days at the fire pit or in the hot tub. It was the start of football season when we were there so even in the house we just relaxed with a game on. This is the ideal place to just get away and relax.

All was available for a fine fourth of July stay. Roomy with space to spare, nicely treed, and very comfortable. Lots of steps to water but all nicely staggered to make access easy.

A Lake House with a View

Peaceful Lake Getaway
We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend visit. The rustic cottage is very clean and comfortable and the kitchen is well-equipped. The beds were very comfortable and we enjoyed the fire pit, hot tub, screened porch and the deck over the water. Wonderful!

Perfect Getaway
This property is wondeful and made for the perfect weekend getaway! The cabin was super clean and cozy and the listing was very accurate. Marc is a very communicative host and is very easy to get in touch with. We didn't have the best weather while we were there, so we weren't able to enjoy the lake, but between the covered hot tub and the warm fire inside, the weekend was perfect. I definitely recommend this property and plan on booking it again in the future!

Stayed 4 nights, had a great time! Got to see some snow. Sat in hot tub watching it snow which was nice. Went on a fishing charter while there and caught two big stripers and a big smallmouth bass. Would definitely recommend this house.
