We needed several bedrooms and a decent yard for our stay and this place appeared to fit the bill. After a 4 hour drive, we pulled up to a dilapidated home, with a yard that clearly hadn’t been touched in a long while, mold on the siding, and large tree branches everywhere in the fenced yard. This house is not what is pictured in the listing.
Upon entering the floors were filthy, there was a leak in the downstairs bathroom, the oven is from the 1960s (that is why it is not in the photos), and the room with the king sized bedroom reeked of marijuana/cigarette smoke that was attempting to be covered up by some truly noxious “air freshener”, rendering it unusable. There were no handsoaps, no hand towels, no kitchen towels, no bath mats, scratchy sheets, cracked tiles, the kitchen pots and pans were damaged to the point they were unusable, the utensils and cooking tools were dirty inside the drawers, the lights over the sink and stove were not working, making it very difficult to see in the dark kitchen. The “best” part was that the dishwasher completely falls out of the counter and leaks profusely when running.
I spent several hours of my trip texting and sending emails with the management company because they kept asking for pictures. A maid came with no prior warning and entered before we could open the door. They also wanted us to spend a day waiting for their plumber, which we refused, of course. It was a shockingly terrible stay. Their 20% refund was inadequate.
