Like staying with family
This is an absolutely gorgeous lodge and property. If you are looking for a place to stay with hunting buddies, a private getaway with a spouse, or quiet place to listen to nature and unplug, this meets all requirements. You are close enough to the city to get needed supplies, yet far enough to leave the city lights and sounds. The owners live next door and are readily available at any time. As a matter of fact, my wife and I were left stranded without transportation at the end of a hike on a nearby trail, Russell jumped in his truck to come get us without hesitation or displeasure. We had the added pleasure of visiting with Russell, at our invitation, almost every evening on the porch overlooking their beautiful pond and property. We love talking to people and hearing their stories so this was something we looked forward to every evening, and hoped he would have time to spend with us. Whether he had time or not, he always made time. If you get the opportunity, request he tell you stories of the lodge's namesake, Remington, as well as his other Lab's. You will enjoy every minute. We will definitely return to see our new friends, The Bakers, at Remington Lodge.

Awesome getaway
The location was inexpensive and well worth the trip. The owner and his wife were very nice and we had no problems during our stay. The acres of land were breathtaking. He kept such a this place in an immaculate shape. I would visit this place again. Rusty, I have enjoyed this trip very much.

Perfect Kansas Getaway!
What a unique experience! The Bakers were so kind and treated us like family from the moment we arrived. We were marveled by the property and its relaxing and comfortable amenities. Nothing has been overlooked. We experienced amazing sunset views under the veranda, star gazed the night sky, enjoyed fishing (and catching) in the private lake and ponds, and were fascinated by birds - purple martins, two families of geese, and the sounds of quail and chukar calls. Such a memorable, relaxing, and educational experience for 2 senior couples while attending the Symphony in the Flint Hills. Learning of Remmington’s successes made the trip even more meaningful. Thanks again Rusty & Jan for your hospitality. You’ve made Remmington Ranch a very special and memorable destination.

Dream Cabin
The owners welcomed us better than family!! He showed us around and we were seeing this place with our jaws dropped. We couldn’t believe how beautiful it is! A great getaway for the family
Rusty was a great host and has an amazing property. He was very helpful upon arrival and showed us where everything was at and how to work everything. There is so much to do in the cabin. There are huge fish in the pond, which make for hours of enjoyment. We will definitely be making this a yearly trip!

Much better than a hotel!
This property is very beautiful and unique. Rusty was helpful and present but not intrusive (he and his wife live right next door). The property is peaceful and quiet. There are dogs in the kennels which barked at our dog when we walked outside and she wanted to play with them so badly! But we couldn’t really hear them when we were inside the house. The covered veranda is a beautiful spot to watch the sunset or the rain (we had both on our stay). The bed was comfortable and the showers were hot. Kitchen had everything we needed and more!

Great Overnight
Property was as advertised. Owners were helpful, pool table was fun, lots of memorabilia to look at, not too far off the highway. There were just two of us but we could see it is a great place for adult get-togethers.

Beautiful property with great hosts
We absolutely loved this place. It was perfect for a family trip to the area for me to run the FlatRock 50K on my 50th birthday. Plenty of room for all of us to spread out, comfortable beds, and very well furnished. Everything was so clean and the hosts provided many special personal touches. The hosts were amazing - responsive, friendly, but not intrusive. I would absolutely stay here again.

Great relaxing property
Russel met us upon arrival. He took 5 minutes to give us a walk through of the property and make sure we didn’t have any questions which was not something I had before. There are dogs on the property but they were not a bother at all. Lots of cool memorabilia to look at. Property was very clean with lots of areas and room to relax.

Outdoor Adventures
Remington Ranch was a delight! Hosts, Rusty and Jan were amazing! The property is beautiful and maintained like a park! The Independence area provides some well maintained trails to hike and water sport activities. Rusty and Jan were very knowledgeable of the area and always available to answer any questions we had. Fishing on the property was a blast and the dog training facilities top notch! Would highly recommend Remington Ranch and Rusty and Jan’s hospitality! Thank you!

Plenty of space and great hosts.
It’s a nice location just 9 minutes from downtown Independence, KS. It was very clean and new and had a great hunting lodge feel with mounted trophies and some raw wood elements mixed in with the finished wood walls and railings. It’s attached to a world renowned bird-dog training kennel so you’ll hear dogs barking some, but if you enjoy dogs and want to see some impressive bird-dog history memorabilia you’ll love it. My 13 year old son and I had a great pool tournament on the nice billiard table and played some checkers to top the night off. There is a fishing pond as well, although we didn’t get an opportunity to use that.

Unplug and Enjoy
The stay that my wife and me had was so relaxing! The Baker’s are incredibly kind and are as accommodating as a host can be. We were provided with a 4x4 to take out around the property. Every question/ need that we had was met during our stay. This place is wonderful if you are wanting to get away, unplug, and relax. Very spacious yet cozy at the same time!

My 3 sisters and I thoroughly enjoyed our mini vacay. The girls were already saying how nice it would be in slightly warmer weather to really be able to enjoy outdoor amenities on the property. Added to our favorites placed booked and look forward to staying again in the future.

Fantastic Property
I was only needing a place to stay for one night that was safe and comfortable. This property exceeded my expectations in every category. Rusty and his wife were very welcoming and were available for any needs that might arise. The property has great fishing lakes to pass your downtime. It was definitely more space than I needed but it was so nice to have all of the amenities and comforts. I will definitely book this property again if I'm in the area. I would highly recommend this property.
