The property has a good layout and is user friendly, on first appearance it is presented very well.
Upon check in we were advised that there was an odour coming from the ground floor bathroom, due to recent rains. Call me skeptical but rainfall is not an unusual occurrence in Skye, I’d guess there is a blockage that simply hasn’t been fixed and certainly wasn’t attended to during our stay. End result was a bad odour coming from the bathroom, very musty in nature, might have even been a blocked septic tank. Rather than heavy rains I’d say more likely a lack of maintenance following the peak booking period, either way, it was akin to what I’d expect staying in a camp ground paying £5 a night and you could smell that odour in the house and definitely when in bed, not ideal. There was also a dripping tap in the kitchen, not a nuisance per se but to me indicative that maintenance is overdue on the property.
Save for the bad odour in the house it could’ve been a great stay. Great outlook from the property, on a main road but little to no noise and certainly very quiet at night. A bit of a drive to Portree for provisions but peacefulness of the location offset that minor inconvenience.
