This little cottage is as described. It’s a quaint coastal house high up on a ledge in a calm cove. The house is furnished with cozy, modest furnishings that are clean and comfortable and not too dear for children to use comfortably. Family photos decorate the walls. Cups, dishes, pots and pans are in abundance in the old kitchen cupboards. There are steep stairs to the water’s edge —lovely swimming in high tide, and wonderful exploring in low.
This house is perfect for getting away from the distractions of the modern world. There are games and puzzles. No TV. Bring books, your knitting, sketching supplies or just sit and watch the sail boat with the saffron sail cover float around its mooring as the tide comes in and out.
Isleboro is a very quiet island. No restaurants per se. There are two small markets, an ice cream shop, cafe, and a couple tiny shops where one can visit with lovely folks. People are friendly. Everyone waves on the road. There are protected walking trails, but no big hikes. Water close by everywhere you go. Drive slow.
