It was just my husband, myself and our 2 dogs. The welcoming pet policy is a real plus! We all enjoyed our stay at the Lucky Cub.
It's a one-of-a-kind location, at the end of a private lane. The sunsets from the deck are post card material. The pond was dried up (end of summer), but I bet it's great most of the year. There are ruins of an old cabin that are fun to explore. The yard is shady and cool, even on hot days.
The house is tastefully decorated. My one constructive criticism is that it is under-furnished for a large group. For the two of us, it was fine, but if I had a group of 12, it would not be adequate. For example, the dining table only seats 4 and the huge, beautiful deck only has 2 rocking chairs on it. If I was there with a large group, we would want to eat dinner together and hang out on the deck together. While there is lots to do in the area, the location of this house begs for some quality time just hanging out! The master bedroom is large and the bed is comfortable but it is very empty feeling. And what happened to the back deck? It would be totally awesome to rebuild that!
I gave the Lucky Cub 5 stars because my comments ares meant as constructive criticism, not complaints. It's a fabulous place.
The whole process from check-in to departure was seamless and any questions were promptly answered. The house was very clean.
Thanks again!
