This was our second stay in one of Ava's properties and our first stay in this particular unit. It was just as nice as last time, clean and quiet. We particularly appreciated the fact that the kitchen was decently stocked with cookware and even some basic ingredients as we didn't want to go out to eat too much due to covid. We also had to move our reservation super last-minute as my partner caught covid (between vaccinations) a few days before our trip and Ava was very accommodating, she allowed us to move the booking for a fee that was only about 30% the cost of a new booking.
Riverside is probably one of the best neighborhoods to stay in in Jacksonville if you're from out of town as it's very safe and there's a lot of things to do, we visit regularly as my partner is from the area. We previously stayed in Ava's unit called the Grand Bohemian and there's a few differences worth noting if you're trying to pick the best unit for you: the Grand Bohemian has a few more kitchen amenities than the Riverside Casita: the fridge has a water and ice dispenser in the door and it has a dishwasher. The bathtub in the Riverside Casita is more of the size of a regular bathtub, although it does have jacuzzi jets, it fits 1 person the best, while the one in the Grand Bohemian is extra big, better for 2 people. The Grand Bohemian has central AC while the Riverside Casita has individual window units, so if you have people in each room who like different temperatures that might be a plus. The Grand Bohemian is also on the first floor of a duplex whereas this unit is on the second, which we felt was a bit quieter, we couldn't hear any other guests. We had a lovely stay in both units and would be happy to return to either for our next trip!
