A little bit of a hike to the beach for the older people, but all in all, a very nice place, and a good time was had by all!

We enjoyed our stay, there was plenty of room for everyone. I appreciated the usage of the bikes & beach equipment. The kitchen was well equipped. Had some issues with the WiFi.

There’s No Place Like Home
Our stay was absolutely amazing! We couldn’t have asked for a better house or experience! It fit our family perfectly! The walk to the beach access on 1st Ave was super doable. The house’s trees provided amazing shade all day. Our furry family member (Banks) loved the walks along the walking path. The owner even provided doggie bags for the walks. The kitchen was stocked with everything needed for cooking. We would highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a peaceful, quiet pet friendly vacation.

Home away from home
Everything was good except for tv, didn’t know how to operate it very well. A lot of steps but good exercise. Pool and hot tub great. A lot of good restaurants and shopping stores. Love the sea food.

A perfect getaway
We had our family reunion here and it couldn't have been more perfect. The house is just a short walk to the beach which is private access so no crowds! It was like our own private beach! The house had beach chairs, a wagon and cart for hauling down our beach stuff, so nice. The pool and hot tub couldn't have been better and was a favorite with all the family. The shade from the trees made it very comfortable when sitting around the pool. Many other rentals did not have this! It was also right on the bike path to Duck and included bikes for a short ride to the downtown area. Such a cute town. We will always remember our wonderful time at "You're not in Kansas anymore..."!

Beautiful home!
The location and home are amazing. The kitchen is fully stocked with every item you might need and the entire home just makes you feel comfortable. We loved the Wizard of Oz theme, literally everything was decked out in it! We enjoyed the board games, the pool, and the hot tub! We were in walking distance to the beach and even got to see multiple deer with babies several times right in the yard. The listing does say there is a bathroom with a jetted tub but this is not accurate. It did look like the bathroom had been recently remodeled so maybe that’s why. Check out time was changed from 11am to 10am while I was on the drive to the house but not a huge deal, we were able to get out on time and I just assumed that I overlooked this and it had been mentioned somewhere before. Overall, a great home and a memorable time! I would definitely stay here again.

Many happy returns
We’d stayed at this property in the past, and on our return trip it did not disappoint. Lovely location, easy walk to an uncrowded beach. The amenities were super, particularly the pool and hot tub. The only difficulty was having to leave at the end of our week’s stay.

Fun home away from home
Enjoyed a week stay with the whole family, including our pup. The pool and hot tub were very popular, and the everyone loved the house theme. We’ll definitely be looking to return in the future!

First time ever in OBX and we loved it! The beach was a short walk from the house and 5 min drive to boardwalk. The pool and Hot tub were amazing. Kitchen area was huge, perfect for large families.

Unbelievable Vacation House
There isn't anything about this vacation that I can honestly say that I didn't like. The house was perfect for our family vacation. The pool was fantastic, as was the adjacent jacuzzi. The rooms were spacious, as they made our family's sleeping time enjoyable and comfortable. The walk to the beach wasn't long at all, as our family made this home our home for the entire week. Thank you very much!

Deserves a 10 star rating!!
We booked “ Follow the Yellow Brick Road “ for a week. It was perfect in every way. The host was very communicative and responsive The home is beautiful and decorated to match the theme. The private pool was the greatest. To just walk outside and get in was terrific. The pool is partially shaded by beautiful trees making both sun and shade available! The walk to the beach was perfect. Some members of our party rode the bikes and took chairs.The location of the home was also perfect. Easy access north to see the wild horses. Corolla and Duck. Easy access to the south for food shopping, visiting Bodie Lighthouse, Sandboarding at the state park, great restaurants, shopping and the outlets. The house was perfect, I never saw I more equiped kitchen. The kitchen had every utensil, pots, pans, storage containers, dishes, etc…. Right down to the corn holders for our corn on the cob from Seaside Market!! Each adult or couple had our own bedroom and bathroom. Each room had its own balcony. The home is dog friendly which meant a lot to us as we travel with our two puppies who will be two years old this month. I would give this home, it’s amenities and Mandy a 10 star rating!! I highly recommend it to anyone looking for the ideal home

Relaxing Getaway
Yellow Brick Road had anything we could think of- we used the beach chairs, umbrella, games and carts to tote. We used the bikes to the beach and on the bike paths in the area. Temps were 65-70 this week so the hot tub was perfect for after the beach. We all took turns being in and out of it throughout the evenings. It was very easy to pop up to Duck for shopping, dining and takeout. We recommend walking on the boardwalk on the sound in Duck and watching the sunset!

Wonderful!
We were initially skeptical about booking Yellow Brick Road because the VRBO listing lacked reviews and the price seemed too good to be true. However, I’m so glad we took the leap of faith and booked this rental for our OBX vacation!! It’s located in an incredibly private area despite being right along the main road, and is a short walk to the beach. The house is one of the most well stocked vacation rentals we’ve ever stayed at. In the kitchen you’ll find any utensil and gadget you could ever hope for and they even have supplies for your pups! The game closet is stocked with a ton of games and puzzles, and there’s a full library of books and movies on shelves throughout the house. Each bedroom has a tv and ROKU as well! Sadly it was too cold for us to take advantage of many of the outdoor amenities during our stay but we did get plenty of use out the hot tub and the four bikes that come with the house. There’s also beautiful pool & deck, and a variety of beach toys and equipment that we hope to use during future trips to Yellow Brick Road in warmer weather :) This rental is a 10/10 and I definitely recommend it!

Lovely Place!
this house was amazing! loved our stay, was comfortable, easy to find, easy beach access, clean and lots of room. Highly recommend this house, and the location of Southern Shores all the way to Corolla, was beautiful and peaceful. shower floors were a tad slick, but was still wonderful!
