Deceptive and Burning Garbage. Fiji ways at EU Rates
I should have known, when I asked about the advertised "Chef's" menus and was told couldn't be distributed before booking, VRBO rule. Grilled hot dogs, packaged french fries, processed chicken fingers, fried egg were part of the package that "everybody loves." What followed in our stay was worse.
- told 15 meter pool, turns out to be 10 m
- pool dirty, but cleaned after requested
- hot tub dirty, asked 3 times for clean, not done
- dryer broken and had been for a long time
- they burned the house garbage along with palm leaves etc., 20 meters from house. Open windows, the smoke rolled through. This is not a typo or made up. They burned the garbage on the front lawn!

- we bought a fry pan because the supplied ones all had the Teflon falling off the scratches
- we had to share the fridge with the help
- the host, contrary to VRBO policy, shared the space. -- They were constantly in and out of the main door as they used the garage as their "office" and the laundry room as their sitting area, food holding area. On the morning of check out, for example, she was cleaning up the kitchen, while we were cooking breakfast. I was wrapped in my shower towel, while she was pulling linen off the bed. Such nice privacy!
A warning to all... do your due diligence, things are not as they are as you will expect. And take a respirator or mask for the burning garbage. Fiji ways at EU rates
