After travelling all day, we checked in to find that housekeeping hadn't completed their job. The place was far from presentable with too many personal items from previous guests left behind. Linens were still in the washer-dryer, dishwasher was never unloaded. Cleaning crew must have left in a hurry, they didn't even pick up their tip left to them by the previous guests. The filthy floors were the biggest turnoff for us, so we had no urge to unpack or settle in. Natasha offered to give a rebate on the cleaning fee and bring back the crew to finish cleaning. That was insulting to say the least. The thought of the crew coming back on our short 2 night stay made us feel unsatisfied and unsettled. When we tried to escalate the issue with VRBO, we were told we'd get a call back but never did. Our concerns were never addressed and going forward I won't book through VRBO or Expedia as they have zero customer service and their sites are filled with fake reviews. The hosts need to fix the trip hazards on the balcony. The basement shower spews water everywhere because there's a big hole on the ceiling -that's an accident waiting to happen as floors get soaked. If the hosts can't be bothered to fix it, at the very least advise guests not to use it!!! That shower should be off limits to guests because it's such a fall hazard. Property is in need of maintenance and TLC. I don't recommend it especially not for kids or for people with mobility issues.There's 1 functioning tv in this cabin.
