Look at google maps for street view

The check in was changed due to lock box not working, we did not use the kitchen other than making coffee. The property had much work that needed to be done. No washcloths in bathrooms nor hand towels, no place to hang towels in upstairs bathroom. I will not stay again. If someone is going to be renting a property, that manager should make sure things are in order. The deck was not cleaned off from tree branches and cobwebs everywhere. Not a good experience

We had a nice time at the lake that week, the house was clean and had everything we needed except enough hand towels and pot holders. The view of the lake was not as we expected but the week was overall a good stay. Would stay again.

Peaceful

Will stay again. Grill wasn't clean and not in good shape. No paddles or balls for ping pong, bought some and leaving there. Need some light bulbs changed. No life jacket for kayaking but we enjoyed it very much

Turn on the heat and fix the shower

Overall nice property. Only complaints are about the heat and the shower. The heat wasnt on when we checked in (it's winter). The shower also doesnt get hot (would get slightly warmer than tap cold, but thats all despite the sink water being very hot)

Cozy

The house was a nice cozy house overall. The kitchen was updated with new appliances. Beds were comfortable. Couldn’t spend time on the patio in the evening because the lights didn’t work. Would’ve like to have a fire pit to use. The basement was cold. There was no dock so we couldn’t hang out by the lake and there were to many leaves on the property that should’ve been blown away from the house.

Perfect Lakeside Retreat

This 2 bed 1.5 bath is a perfect place to relax, kayak, fish or just enjoy beautiful Lake Hartwell. The kitchen is well equipped, there are 2 big screen TVs and an ample deck looking over the lake. Downstairs is a Ping Pong table we spent a lot of time on. Nice little walk way down to the lake. Kayaks are provided. We will be back.

Nasty

This is the worst experience I’ve ever had when renting a property. The house was run down, doors falling off hinges, dirty floors, dirty shower(hair and dirt all in it) no clean linens or towels!! Everyone in our party got sick after staying here! Do yourself a favor and run from this listing trust me!

Nice lake trip

Enjoyed the local food, lake fun, and remote location to feel off the beaten path. Had what we needed for a family of 5. Kids were too scared to sleep in the basement though.

Very Dirty

Was excited to stay at a house on the lake, but the lake access full of over growth, large limbs, and trash. The yard was over grown with trash and dirty clothes left laying around. Inside was worse. It smelt terrible, there was a giant box full of trash in the laundry room, filthy floors, and trash in the window sills. The beds were made, but we questioned the cleanliness of the bedding. Not sure who the cleaning company is, but I don’t think the owners are getting their money’s worth.

Location was easy to find, very convenient

Great response between owner and us through the entire process. Rented for 5 days for work. We liked that it was on the lake, unfortunately we couldn’t enjoy it, as it poured the entire time. The outside definitely needs to be cleaned up. First appearances are important. A little TLC would greatly improve the front. The kitchen was fine, we’ll stocked. There’s all new appliances. Kitchen has a small table that does expand to seat 6 comfortably. Unfortunately, there’s only 4 chairs. So if you have more than 4 people I’m not sure what you would do. There is one other small child’s chair in the bedroom downstairs. The 4 chairs in the kitchen are all different, pretty uncomfortable, should be replaced. I kept the table open for our entire stay. Very large living room, windows scaped to overlook the lake. Easy walk down to The lake as well. There are steps leading to water. No views of the water in spring and summer due to trees. There are 4 Adirondack chairs outside facing the water, table and 4 chairs. Again, it rained the entire time so we could not enjoy the lake. There are 2 kayaks. There’s is a grill, we never used it. Charcoal only. Again, the outside was unkept. I would have recommended that they blew the fallen sticks, leaves, fallen debry off the back deck. The couch is okay, maybe have that cleaned. There is a large water stain on it. I just covered it with a sheet to sit on. 2 pretty wicker chairs. I would probably update the furniture it’s needed. Marketplace is a great place to purchase things inexpensively. Bedroom downstairs has a daybed with trundle. We didn’t use it, yet did lay on it one afternoon, mattresses very comfortable. There are extra sheets and blankets in the closet in this bedroom,. They were not folded, blankets were laying on the floor. I washed a blanket/comforter that was in the closet, as it definitely had signs of use prior to us. Pillows are also just thrown on the floor of the closet with a bunch of other sheets, and blankets. Needs to be tidied up. Bathroom on main level was fine. Stand up shower only. Loft upstairs has a 4 poster king bed. Very nice. Small bathroom, no shower. Large closet. Laundry room has new appliances which was nice. This place is fine for the money and or quick little getaway. Easy to find. We had no problem hearing traffic as others commented on. I think with some TLC this cabin would be awesome!

Sweet little cottage

My husband and I Rented this little cottage for a weekend for our anniversary. All we wanted was something cozy to spend time together. This property was clean and maintained very nicely. Plenty of towels, pots, pans, ect. We had everything we needed plus some. The bed upstairs was incredibly comfortable and the furnishings were very nice. The view was nice on the back porch and the host was incredibly nice and accommodating. We did call when we got there and asked for one thing and she had it delivered to us within the hour. The food around the area was great. Check in/out process was so easy and we had not a single issue. Will absolutely be back.

Closeness to Hartwell

We mostly travelled to Hartwell. The property and the deck were great and we found everything we needed. The state park was right around the corner and I am sure this location would be great for a family on a recreational trip.

Weekend Getaway For My Husband’s Birthday

We really enjoyed our stay. Property was described as it was. My husband really enjoyed himself. Wasn’t to far from everything which made that really convenient. Owners responded within minutes when we checked in. We plan to stay again in the Spring.

This rental was my least favorite we've ever used. I'll make a list of pros and cons. Pros: -Very nice kitchen appliances and amenities, plenty of pots, pans, plates, etc. -We had no issues with necessities (heat, lights, hot water) -Two sit in kayaks under the back porch area was a nice surprise -The master bed was very comfortable -The inside was very clean aside from cob webs up high in corners -The neighborhood felt safe -The view of the lake was pretty -Loved a lot of the decor. Cons: Safety: -Broken glass around the outside. Definitely needed to ensure everyone wore shoes (under the back porch area) -The steps going down to the basement had a lot of nail heads exposed, also had to make sure I wore shoes going down there -Trim around the house had nail heads sticking out in some spots. -The front and back doors don't have deadbolts and the front door doesn't have a smooth close, the latch plate is sketchy -Exposed electrical outlet by the kitchen trash can -This probably isn't something the owner can fix, but the water smelled very heavily of bleach. We purchased our own water for drinking. -The bedroom downstairs had a door that could lock but required a key. Not great when little kids lock themselves in. Experience: -Althouth the view was beautiful, it wasn't pleasant at all with the noise. It's very close to a busy high-speed road so it's loud all day and evening. As in have to raise your voice to have a conversation outside. But the sound is barely noticeable inside so no issues sleeping at least. -The home was remodeled very quickly and sloppily. There's paint everywhere ie on outlets, switches, floor, shower, window glass.. -The shower and sink have caulking all over them, very messily applied -The trim around the door frames upstairs don't line up, like a few small boards making up one side of the door. -There isn't a light switch upstairs to turn lights on downstairs, so we had to leave a lamp on downstairs Neutral: -2 trash bags were provided for the 4 night stay with no extras. Putting this in the neutral area because I could have reached out to the host, but we made do on our own -This is a FYI for future renters, and the host did inform us that the beach area was muddy and not ideal, but to add on to that the area by the water is downright dangerous. Sunk to my thighs to rescue my toddler. Worse to the left that we made off limits to the kids.

Great value and pet friendly

My family and dogs had a great stay here. The only down side was the road noise (there was construction during our stay) and the toadstool toilet everything else was as represented and convenient to access
