Valentines Getaway with a Chance of Snow
The stay was absolutely wonderful! I booked this place for my partner and I semi-last minute for a Valentine’s Day weekend getaway. We are both lovers of waterfronts, so this place was perfect (and reasonably priced). The check in process was very easy and the property has numerous amenities from bubble bath to coffee mate in the fridge. The property is renovated, well kept, and as advertised. The views of the waterfront are not exaggerated, and one can really walk down to the lakeside with ease. This place was beautiful during the winter amid the backdrop of a frozen lake. During our stay, we unfortunately had unexpected snow and the roads got dangerous. George, the host, was very kind to let us extend the trip by one day and was in contact throughout the whole process. We appreciate his understanding on that matter. Overall, this was a 10/10 trip and we hope to come back!

The best getaway
George is a wonderful host. He is attentive to every detail. The home is on the water so the views of the lake are magestic. The house felt as if we were the first guests! It was clean and had all the amenities we needed to relax and just enjoy the view!!

Another Great Stay!
Another great fall stay at the Lakeside Retreat. The view of the lake is amazing from outside and inside. We love to watch the boats go back and forth all day. Immaculately clean inside and out. Kudos to the cleaning crew! The home has everything you need and more. Communication with the owner was great. We rarely give a five-star rating, but this rental certainly deserves it. A little about the area: there is a fresh fish market, Ardick Seafood, within a few minutes where you can get perch, walleye and more. The Paper Moon Vineyards is about 20 minutes away. The Quarry Hill Orchards and winery is a fun stop within 30 minutes. Try a snoogle at Kiedrowski's bakery or stop into Marta's N more bakery downtown Lorain (although they have limited hours). And just a couple of minutes to the Marina where you can take a walk on the mile long pier. Only 40 minutes or so either way to Sandusky or Cleveland. This place is a great find!

Awesome Property Lakeside Retreat
Our fourth stay at Lakeside Retreat in the past two years is just as rewarding as the first. The owners have taken the provisions and environment (inside and out) several steps beyond our expectations. Top quality throughout!! A message to new searching tenants….look no further, you will find all of your expectations met and more when booking a stay at the Lakeside Retreat. Already we are planning future bookings at this property for 2025. Congratulations to the owners……Well Done!!

Perfection on the Lake
This was my second stay here and I loved it even more than the first time. The neighborhood is quiet, the house is clean and bright, the decor is lovely and very tasteful, the beds are comfortable, the kitchen and bathrooms are fully equipped with everything you could possibly need (and my wife adored the bathtub), and the lake view is spectacular. Probably the nicest VRBO I've ever stayed in.

Beautiful home with amazing views of the lake
There isn’t anything bad to say about this house or the host. Communication was always clear and responded to very timely. The home is immaculately clean. They have thought of and provided any and everything you could possibly need while staying there. They even provide a wide variety of convenience items you may have forgotten. The home has wonderful views of the lake from many rooms and there are tons of outside seating options. The surrounding neighborhood isn’t the best, but the actual street the home is on is fine, and we had no problems while staying there. Overall, Great place to stay.

Perfekter Ort zum Entspannen
Wir haben unseren USA Urlaub in New York gestartet und sind dann über mehrere Zwischenstops, zum relaxen in diesem wunderschönen Haus angekommen. Wir haben 10 Nächte dort verbracht. Die Ankunft war herzlich, da der Eigentümer zur selben Zeit, in seinem Haus nebenan, anwesend war. Der Zugang zum Haus erfolgte über einen Code. Diesen haben wir erst bei Ankunft erhalten. Das Haus ist wunderschön eingerichtet und sehr liebevoll gestaltet und gepflegt. Alles vorhanden was man braucht. Wenn etwas fehlt wird es sofort besorgt. Z.B. war kein Flaschenöffner vorhanden. Wir haben zufällige den Besitzer getroffen und er hat sofort einen für uns besorgt. Da wir zum relaxen da waren und ziemlich viel draußen auf der Veranda gesessen haben, kam der Besitzer nach ein paar Tagen und hatte zwei richtige neue Liegestühle gekauft. Diese waren vorher nicht vorhanden. Kurz bevor wir ankamen hat es einen schlimmen Sturm gegeben, der das Internet lahmgelegt hat. Es wurde sofort repariert. Den Verwalter des Objektes haben wir nicht oft gesehen. Deshalb können wir dazu nicht viel sagen. Das einzige weniger gute ist, dass man zwar direkt am See wohnt aber nicht direkt ins Wasser kann. Zu rutschig. Die Umgebung ist sehr ruhig und schön. Wir hatten das Glück viele atemberaubende Sonnenuntergänge zu sehen. Der Leuchtturm ist nicht weit und lohnenswert. Es gibt in der Nähe Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, kleine schöne Strände. Man benötigt aber ein Auto. Fazit. Super sauber, super Besitzer, super Gegend. Danke.

Amazing place with attention to the finer details
The place was perfect! They definitely put time and thought into the finer details of making this place a great place for short-term rentals. They had all kinds of little quirks about the place that made you feel just a home; to the point, if you forgot something......they most likely had it in stock in the house for you to use; from toiletries to feminine products, to bandaids, and beyond. Excellent host and would definitely stay there again.

We had the best time and stayed in one of the most fully stocked and cute up to date home Everything you could have wanted was there . The view of the Lake was best the gas fire pit was wonderful the house was cozy and the beds were comfortable

So peaceful and immaculate
We’ve never stayed in a property that was as immaculately clean! The layout of the home was wonderful- but the views of the lake! Whether from the upstairs porch, the downstairs porch or the small deck closer to the water sitting around the fire pit- Heaven! Just a perfect getaway. Always important- the beds were very comfortable. We admittedly didn’t go out much, but the marina and boardwalk were a fun place to visit. The area appears to be going through some revitalization so there may be more things to do in the community as that develops. Note that there’s no swimming off the property- there’s no good transition to the lake and it’s not allowed, but it in no way kept us from enjoying to property. Highly recommended!

The house itself is wonderful. The Manager and the Owners always make us feel so welcome and taken care of. Lots of little extra touches that make it feel like home. Everything is super clean and comfortable. We love it here. See you next year!

It just doesn’t get any better
We have stayed in many places over the years, places that cost three to four times as much as the Lakeside Retreat but NEVER in a place that was so immaculately clean. Fantastic views from several rooms. Extremely responsive owner. I hope to return here with a longer stay.

Outstanding Property
The Lakeside Retreat is top notch in all lakefront properties available. This was our second visit to this property in less than a year. The first was a short 5 day stay. The second was 14 nights. Our search within VRBO is over. We look forward to our next visit to Lakeside Retreat. We recommend this property above all others in its class. Exceeds our highest expectations!!…hands down!!

Lovely Lakeside Retreat
Everything about this property and house is outstanding! It is immaculate, well stocked in the kitchen and bathrooms, beautifully furnished and with an amazing view! Sitting by the gas firepit with a cocktail and great friends looking out over the lake was our highlight. The sunsets were spectacular!
