Our family of 4, including our 2 adult daughters, spent a wonderful week in July using this house as our starting point to explore the Cotes du Rhone region. We experienced quite a heat wave, and really appreciated the air conditioned units in every room (that worked perfectly) and the cooling outdoor pool. The house feels like it is in the middle of the country (with braying donkeys, crowing roosters, and the white noise of the cicadas) but is only minutes away from bustling Carpentras. So it has the privacy and quiet of the countryside, and the convenience of being close to amenities.
The house is a renovated mas, designed with very high standards and attention to detail, and all in great taste. The bedrooms are generously sized and all with contemporary, high-end bathrooms. The kitchen has everything anyone could need, and we enjoyed having the choice of a table inside the kitchen, a table in the dining room, and a table just outside the house to choose from for our meals. More than anything, I appreciated the generosity and thoughtfulness of the hosts, who had provided everything for their guests. So many rental properties scrimp on the minor things (like: no salt and pepper, one roll of paper towels, no cutting boards, that type of thing). This house provided everything! Luxury soaps in the bathroom, a clothes washer pre-loaded with detergent, nespresso capsules (which our caffeine-addicted daughters used way too many of), etc. All those little details that are a pain to go out and hunt down and buy during precious vacation days. The owners anticipated everything!
We all LOVED this house, appreciated the kindness of the owners, and hope to return when it is not so hot!
