Wedding week with family in LA!
James allowed us to book a few extra days at the last minute since some other accommodations weren't possible due to the fires. We adjusted quickly and easily with him. He was understanding, kind, and quick to answer our questions and even offered to come to fix some water pressure issues in the kitchen right away, but we were not as concerned with it. We were in and out a lot and used the dishwasher for most of the items used during our stay.As for the property- a lovely, quiet neighborhood one block away from the large park/rec area made for nice walks in the mornings and was super clean and nice. The home is older and has its charms, but James is aware of it, and the work done on it is fantastic. The kitchen was spacious and roomy enough for all of us to enjoy snacks, coffee, and large meals together. The rooms were great, the living room and island seats were such a nice way to relax with our family. We really enjoyed the patio during the days we had sun (which was almost all of them!)It's a cozy property and especially family-friendly being in such a quiet residential area. Thank you so much to James and his crew. We really appreciate your hospitality!

Property Needs TLC
I wish I could recommend this property, but there were so much maintenance neglect, and overall wear and tear present that I simply cannot write a better review. We first encountered hazardous cracked steps leading to a lock box with such low battery power that we barely got inside. We experienced broken cabinet hinges, torn screens, chipped paint in many areas, missing window slates in a bathroom, missing dresser drawer pulls, a dangerous huge broken mirror resting on a bedroom floor, a plumbing leak under the master suite bath sink, a kitchen sink with very low water pressure, and no tub stopper to properly bathe our young grandchildren. The dishwasher, though new, was not fully installed and the disposal did not work. I contacted the owner and did get a quick response to replace the key pad entry battery, attach the dishwasher and fix the disposal. Fortunately a repair person came the next afternoon to handle those crucially needed items. As a former vacation property manager, I am rather shocked that these safety and typical inspection protocol concerns were overlooked. I would suggest a thorough examination prior to hosting any future guests. Bathmats should be added to prevent slipping inside and outside of the showers and stepping onto smooth flooring. On a positive note, the enclosed yard was nice for our small dog, the quiet street was pleasant, the decor was cute, and the beds were comfortable. I am giving this rental 3 stars only because it has much potential.

Ideal place to stay
Nice clean home if you are looking to stay away from LA busy traffic. We were there for a 3 night stay to attend my daughter's graduation. This was perfect to accommodate multiple guests and multiple cars. The kitchen is well equipped. It has a little yard with fruit trees. One thing I overlooked is how hot it could get at this time. There are also good restaurants nearby to choose from.

Sweet Encino Village House
Good location, five minute walk from a great park and very close to other amenities. Quiet neighborhood, easy parking, lots of space. James was minutes away by email and very responsive.

Quiet neighborhood
We would stay here again. It is a nice, quiet neighborhood. On a Sunday morning it was 15 minutes to Universal Studios. The house appears to have had a recent cosmetic remodel and was very well-stocked with any items one might need. It worked very well for our family of five.
