Soak it up: Cozy island retreat
Our New Year’s stay at this romantic cabin was absolutely perfect! Nestled in the trees with a gorgeous water view, the cabin felt like a nostalgic getaway—like the cozy family cabin or your best friend's retreat in the woods. The wood fire in the potbelly stove kept us warm and added a charming, rustic touch, and the bed was comfortable with flannel sheets and a down comforter.I especially loved soaking in the enclosed wooden hot tub, which felt private and serene, even in the cold. We also ventured to Sunset Beach to walk our dog, Houston, and I found some beautiful shells and even an agate. The island’s peaceful nature and lack of city noise made it easy to relax.Grant, the owner, was phenomenal—he went above and beyond by mailing us clothes we accidentally left behind. This cabin is truly a special place for couples who want to disconnect and enjoy each other’s company in a quiet, natural setting. It’s a one-of-a-kind experience, and we’re already looking forward to coming back. Highly recommend :)

Amazing Weekend In the woods
What a cute cabin! This place has so much character and has the most cozy vibe. Grant is an amazing host, he is personable, timely and we had some great conversations. He gave us a tour and run down of the cabin, how to use the adorable wood burning stove. We are big outdoorsy people so a little rain in the woods never deters us. We love Lummi island, it is always such a peaceful getaway. We will definitely be back to Grant’s place! He is the sweetest host!

Peaceful stay
We had a quiet, peaceful stay. All of the stairs and inclines were difficult for our senior dogs, so the "fenced" portion of the yard wasn't really usable for them independently, but we carried them on steeper portions and walked them on leashes otherwise. Wasn't a big deal, just not something we were prepared for.

Rustic cabin with a beautiful view
It was quiet and beautiful. The cabin is definitely rustic, although has all the amenities you want, (wifi, dishwasher, etc.) There is a gorgeous nature preserve close by, and I took walks and did an enormous jigsaw puzzle while feeling like I was in a treehouse.

A Couple Days Away
My wife and I usually do a Fall getaway for a couple days. We often go to the Coast. But the rising costs of most VRBOs led me to search elsewhere. Grant's cabin on Lummi Island was reasonably priced. No gouging on the service fees. The place is very homey and has everything you might need. Coffee drinkers be prepared for a percolator rather than a Mr. Coffee. It is a cabin and so it is not pristinely clean. This was not a problem for us. As it was stormy we were happy to stay in, watch the trees dance outside the window and listen to the pinecones hitting the metal roof. We were quite warm enough with the wood stove on the main floor. [We've had multiple homes with wood stoves so this was familiar territory for us- but I did have to re-stock the supply of wood in the house twice over three days. The furnishings are aged, but comfortable. The bed was very comfortable and we were quite warm. We are not used to a gas range, but we figured it out and enjoyed some good meals. The hot tub was so nice, we used it twice. The hot tub enclosure is not so tidy, but it's a cabin in the woods. It didn't keep us from enjoying the tub's heat and the lovely view. All in all we had three nights and two days of snuggling in, reading, eating, hot tubbing, and enjoying Netflix and the Roku channel. All good.

The house that Grant built is super cozy and has lots of funky details. The hot tub is relaxing and the wood stove is very efficient and does a great job of heating the main floor and upper bedroom. Grant provides a lot of important details in his listing, so be sure to read it carefully. We enjoyed our weekend on Lummi Island!

Wonderful Weekend Getaway
Grant's cabin is very cozy and is a wonderful place to relax. I could spend a lot more time reading next to the wood stove and soaking in the hot tub. Grant was a great host too. He had excellent communication and kept the cabin well stocked. I will certainly be back!

Lovely Cabin in the Sky
Grant’s Lummi Island cabin was the perfect setting for some much needed rest and relaxation. The spacious deck provided a perfect backdrop for meals, lounging in the sun and afternoon naps. The hot tub was a favorite, as was his well stocked kitchen. Grant was a gracious host, always available to answer any questions or offer suggestions. I will definitely return to his place.

Relax and recharge
Grant's place is amazing. Perfect setting to get a little time away to relax, especially in the outdoor soaking tub! The flowers and garden are beautiful, the kitchen has everything you need, and Grant gave great instructions about everything for the house and the island. I hope to come back again!
