Peaceful Spring break
Our family had a wonderful time at this cute little cabin. The property was beautiful and the communication throughout our stay was stellar. We fished a lot, explored the Luray caverns, fish, some more, add quality family time and just enjoy the beauty. Really all positive things to say. The only thing that took getting used to was the soft water in the house and the hot tub. It was very strange for us and we wish the fish were biting a bit more other than that. It was an amazing day. Thank you.

Relaxing by the river
Can't say enough good things about this property. Enough space for everyone. Nice large deck with screened in table. Nice large lawn for games and fire pit. And of course, right on the river. We will absolutely be back!

Nice cabin in the woods
Weekend getaway with friends. The cabin was as described and the photos are accurate. Very comfortable for the four of us. Picturesque setting on the Potomac. Be sure to pick up supplies (including bug spray) before your stay. Thanks Katy and Pilar!

Property was clean and up to date. Pleasantly pleased with no bugs within the home although it is in the middle of the woods. Directions to the property was clear and concise. Location was perfect!

Beautiful views
We really enjoyed our time at Fish Trap. The house is very peaceful and quiet and has a beautiful view of the river. The house was very clean (there were some flies, but you are in the woods). The beds were comfortable and we liked that there were twin beds too. The upstairs shower and tub did not have hot water and was not usable, which was disappointing. We did reach out to the manager and they offered to send someone out. We didn’t want to deal with having someone there and just used the downstairs shower. (Hopefully it gets fixed before the next guests arrive - there was a previous review that commented about the water temperature too and assumed it was addressed).

Lovely!
Have an amazing time! Everything was very clean, comfortable, and well set up for guests. The only thing I’ll note for future guests is that you should bring every kitchen food item you need. There wasn’t even salt and pepper.

Nice quiet weekend
We had a very quiet weekend in the mountains to bring in the New Year. The house was clean and quaint as advertised . I think generally we received what we expected. Cell service was better than we feared. Opportunities for this rental would be more comfortable beds, and a better stocked kitchen. There were limited pots and pans and no can opener we could find which was a bit of a bummer when trying cook a meal with more than one dish.

Christmas at Fish Trap
Loved our stay. Was not disappointed in the least. Love the fire pit and trails. My dog was in his “glory”. He didn’t care how cold the water was. Our temperatures there were mostly between 50-60’s. The house was super spacious. Beds were ULTRA COMFY! Fish Trap supplied all of our needs… (oops,..no can opener..but we made due). I would vacation here again and again. Perfect area. Next time I visit will be in the summer so I can tube down the river and fish. Thank u Fish Trap!!!!

family vacation
we absolutely enjoyed our vacation and the house. We had plenty of room. Only one issue (which we did not report) was that we could not get the upstairs bathroom water in the tub/shower to get hot, lukewarm at best. We all had to use the downstairs bathroom. Other than that it was perfect

Perfect remote cabin!
Loved everything about the cabin! The fireplace was a pleasant surprise. It puts off a ton of heat, making the house even cozier. We loved the hot tub and fire pit. Only complaint was the internet was extremely slow (not good enough for video meetings or uploading large documents) but we were warned about this and we weren’t there to be on the internet. Definitely bring DVDs for the evenings or else you are at the mercy of what comes on TV (which had perfectly good service). One teeny tiny complaint: there was no can opener in the kitchen. Maybe it walked off with a previous guest. We had everything else we needed. Hiking Kennedy Gap was beautiful and downtown Luray was super cute. I hope we make it back to Fish Trap Cabin soon!

Family Adventure
Had such a great trip to Luray and Fish Trap cabin! The setting is ideal down by the river, boys were able to fly fish and we could watch from the front porch. Every night we had a fire in the fire pit on the expansive lawn. The cabin was perfect for six and we loved every minute. Perfect getaway in the Virginia hills!!

Amazing cabin!
We stayed 4 days and loved everyday spent there. It is located close enough to get what you need but secluded enough to enjoy family time. Canoes are provided which we used. The sounds of the river were very relaxing. It has an amazing fire pit with a really big stock of logs near by that you pay for the convince; which we did. We plan to book a future trip to this same cabin. The cabin is clean and in great shape. It has nice tile floors in the bathrooms. Fully stocked kitchen just add food and you are good to go. Beds are comfortable. Satellite TV and internet included. So when you had enough outdoors you can still watch TV with the family. There are many activities nearby that you can find. If plan on tubing or canoing from the bridge plan an entire day. Enjoy your stay you will happy you did.

Nice Cabin
Over all nice cabin, quiet location, great for fishing, within 25 minutes of restaurants & local attractions, comfortable beds, & hot tub was nice. Only down fall was the Wi-fi, it only worked off & on which made it hard to look things up & plan your day ahead of time & you had to take your garbage to a dumpster up the road or pay per bag.

Great location!
This property was near perfect! The location right on the river allowed us to set up a few floats that we just tied off on the rocks and ended up sitting right in the middle of the river (about 50 yds across at where the cabin is) The beds were more comfortable than most and had plenty of room (especially closet space). The kitchen was a bit smaller than we expected, but had everything we needed. The warning about the wifi had us worried, but we never had any issues, and we were streaming music most of the time we were there. With the great weather and the spectacular night sky views, we had a very memorable time. We are definitely going to try and get this place next year!

Clean, comfortable cabin in a beautiful setting. Loved having coffee on the deck and watching the river. Gorgeous hiking nearby in Shenandoah National Park. Perfect spot for getting away from it all and recharging.

Great family location
Highly recommend FishTrap cabin for a family vacation. The large yard and big fire pit were wonderful. Having plentiful firewood available was a great touch and well worth the daily fee. The river views were outstanding from the yard, deck, and house. The house had comfortable furniture, lots of nice towels, and all the cooking tools needed for basic cooking. This cabin is on a larger property with several other cabins which was perfect for staying near friends but each having our own space. We took advantage of the canoes but found that going upriver was really tough so we drove the canoes to the bridge about 5 miles up the road and paddled back down to the cabin which was lovely. All around, a great spring break weekend for our family and we would love to return!
