Lovely cabin but read the fine print
We had a lovely two nights at this cabin bringing in the New Year. The property was as-described and everything seemed clean. It's a cozy studio cabin with one main room and a bathroom. We loved the indoor fire place and the hot tub. The listing does note exactly what they provide at the house, and we were glad to have taken note so we made sure to bring any essentials that wouldn't be included. As others have noted, the property managers do require a lease to be signed along with a copy of photo ID either faxed or emailed. Make sure to give yourself the required time and technological access to accomplish this, as you will not receive the passcodes to enter the property until then. The property manager also are not working during the weekend so it's best to make any arrangements with them during business hours on weekdays. This is not a knock on the property but just to help other renters set expectations to have a smooth and stress free check in.

Lovely Getaway
Brief two-night stay. Cabin was lovely. Faux fireplace a surprisingly nice touch. Hot tub was amazing. We saw a shooting star and four deer while we were in it last night. View spectacular. Hosts responsive. Mostly stocked kitchen to prep our meals. Wifi was spotty throughout stay and kept kicking us off but we still got cell service so it was fine. Sat TV never cut out but a smart tv with apps would have been preferred. Two person shower very nice. Comfy bed. Peaceful and quiet and only 20 min from Luray. A great Thanksgiving getaway.

Beautiful venue for an anniversary trip!
We absolutely loved staying here! We came for our 5 year wedding anniversary and were so happy with our visit. The property was easy to get to, and we had everything we needed! The view from the porch and Adirondack chairs was beautiful! We went hiking to Hawksbill Loop Trail and had an amazing anniversary dinner at the Chophouse in Luray! Would definitely book again!

We came for an anniversary getaway and were very impressed by the cleanliness of the cabin. The view was amazing and the hot tub was so relaxing and peaceful. I loved having a washer/dryer in the cabin also. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again!

A great anniversary getaway
Cabin #8 was perfect for me and my wife to celebrate our 26th wedding anniversary. The views from the cabin were spectacular! We sat on the balcony on a cold November morning to watch the sun come up and flood the valley with light...beautiful! We regularly had deer in the yard surrounding the cabin, too! We took advantage of the firepit and hot tub frequently, especially when the power went out for three hours as the remnants of hurricane Nicole came through! The owners were quick to bring around candles, lighters, and flashlights when that happened! All in all, we would absolutely stay here again, as we had a fabulous time getting away from the hustle and bustle of our Northern Virginia life! I would have only two suggestions for the owners: 1. The pictures on the websites (Hawksbillretreat.com, vrbo.com, etc.) for cabin #8 (and any other cabins that have been updated) should be updated to reflect the new cabin amenities (new furniture, new mantel/fireplace, and new big screen TV). All of these things were pleasant surprises for us, as we did not know the upgrades had been put in place. Updated pictures might prove to be a beneficial decision aid for anyone thinking about renting a cabin. 2. Given the new furniture arrangement in the cabin (wherein the bed now faces the fireplace/TV), I would like to suggest putting a small sofa (or, perhaps, two small chairs with a table between) at the foot of the bed to make watching TV more enjoyable. While the couch in the cabin does the job, it's at a 90º degree angle relative to the TV, requiring one to sit with their neck turned towards the TV. We had two small camp chairs that we initially brought to sit around the firepit, but we ended up putting them at the foot of the bed to watch TV, which was perfect for us. We had a great time, and we will definitely be back in the future!

Lovely Cabin Getaway
We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin and the views were beautiful. The hot tub could use a little repair (certain functions didn’t work). You’ll want to be sure to bring/buy items like salt, pepper, extra toilet paper, etc. They provide exactly what’s on the listing. The code didn’t work to get in at first, but the property manager was very responsive and we figured it out. Would recommend to a friend!

Weekend in Shenandoah
The property was what it was cracked up to be. The listing was clear on times/ check-ins, and it was super clean. Overall, the location was great and was a good retreat from every day life. We enjoyed our time there, and the Shenandoah National Park is a short drive from there. We would definitely go back!
