Small but nice.
Place was very clean-this is at the top of my list for importance in rentals. Super cute little place. Nice deck in back with seating. Quick two minute walk to river! Hosts were AWESOME. I cannot emphasize this enough. Fantastic communication, very kind. Things to be aware of, depending on your situation and needs: Must pass through one bedroom to reach the next, and no doors or curtains to give privacy. Futon only seating in living room; may be difficult to get up from if you have a bad back or bad knees. Bar directly across street; was a bit noisy on weekend, but was quiet during weeknights. Overall a great little place with close access to the riverwalk and a view of the water. Madison is wonderful, and we enjoyed our stay at Wee House for a full week!

Disappointing
Before renting this beautiful, little cottage named the Wee House, be sure to check out all 65 things listed under Amenities. We didn't. At the bottom you will find a Note: "The Wee House is located across the street from the 1st Street Saloon." Amenity? Saloons can be very noisy with the loud mufflers of motorcycles and pickups coming and going until 3AM closing and parking in front of the Wee House. Noisy patrons and loud music (including live music on the weekends) contribute to this. Occasionally a loud, heated argument will break out in the street next to your rental car, a few feet from the front door of the Wee House. We understand that none of this is under the control of the owners of the Wee House. Their refusal to refund any of the 11 days we had remaining when we felt compelled to abandon the property after one night is fully within their rights. So if you enjoy nightlife and excitement, the Wee House is perfect for you. If you value sleep and the safety and security of your family, you might want to look elsewhere.

Location, location, location
This is a great little house perfect for 2-4 people. We were able to walk everywhere. The only time we drove was when we went to the hilltop (north Madison) and when we went out of town. Being able to see the Ohio River from the kitchen and back porch was a great feature. The owners were great to deal with. The home comes equipped with enough kitchenware to fix and eat meals. The check-in and checkout process was very simple. Madison is great town and the Wee House is the perfect place to stay.

Great place! Perfect for a girls weekend! Convenient to historic district; just a mile from Cliffty Falls😊 Absolutely loved the river view from the deck; spent the whole morning, both days, enjoying the view over coffee and conversation - it was wonderful!

Very nice shotgun house!
This property was perfect for our girls weekend! It was extremely clean and comfortable, and had a cute deck with views of the river. The only change I would make is add another mirror in the bedroom(s) as there is only one small one in the bathroom.

We had some issues with the "list of things to do when checking out" ... We didn't do exactly as it required and were billed another $40 for things that would have taken 10 minutes to do.. I disagreed with this charge.

Wee house was very clean with great hosts
The house was exactly as advertised and spotlessly clean. It has all the amenities we needed and the bed was comfortable. Fast wireless as well! The hosts responded quickly to our requests, and were very personable, and very fair to deal with. We had a single miscommunication (our fault) at one point, but it was handled swiftly and calmly. We accidentally left something behind, and they shipped it to us promptly with a minimum of hassle. They went above and beyond for us. I would definitely rent from them again.

Beautiful house, great location
We stayed at the Wee House for a girls weekend. It was the perfect location for shopping and dining. We spent a lot of time sitting on the back porch watching the river. The house was clean and just what we needed. Would stay here again.

EXCELLENT LITTLE PLACE
A wonderful cozy place to spend a week, the home was very clean, and completely remodeled with all new appliances, washer and dryer. The deck overlooks a view of the Ohio river, and the convenience of a short walk to downtown Madison was perfect. The neighbors were very welcoming and friendly. I surely plan to lease this property again.

What a Gem!
This is the perfect Shotgun House - located within walking distance to virtually all that historic downtown Madison has to offer. Squeaky clean, full of character and ammenities like coffee and teas (right up our alley) and just a great place to call home while exploring Madison. The neighbor's dog was a treat. Old boy with character! There is a bar/saloon across the street, but we didn't hear a thing from that establishment. We will stay here again without hesitation - thank you for having the Ackley ladies! A perfect Mom/daughters weekend!

Lovely home - has everything you need!
My two sisters and I stayed at this property for a long weekend. The home is exactly as described, is very clean and comfortable and is within walking distance of the quaint downtown area. Would highly recommend!
