We made our way to maggie valley with relaxation and fishing on our minds. The directions were perfect. We arrived to the subdivision road, it was a little bit washed out but our 4runner didnt have a problem in 2wd. My buddy was in a toyota corolla and he also didnt have a issue, until trying to back up the driveway. Its a fairly hard up hill left turn into the driveway. Although ther is room for 2 cars to park below the driveway to the house. He drove straight up to the house with no problem. We spent the first night in the house the place was very clean and the beds slept great. There isnt a couch, but a nice reclining loveseat. We also brought our pup, the yard is a little tight, but she had plenty of room to walk around freely and play. It rained off and on a few days but we still enjoyed sitting on the porch and by the fire pit between the rain. We seen 3 bears in the yard!! For us that was a first but they didn't bother anything. We watched the 2 cubs play and climb trees while mom was eating and watching. They worked their way down the mountain. The area is nice and quiet, most of the locals ride around on atv. We spoke with a few, they were friendly, they said they usually see bear and elk. We were fishing in cherokee. It was about a 15 minute ride to the tribal waters. We fished two days and caught some beautiful trout. We went to a few restaurants they were great as well. All in all we had a great stay. I would definitely go back.
