From helping to arrange the taxi, to looking into a fishing boat charter, the caretaker Leo made sure we had everything we needed. The unit is a spacious 2 bed, 2 bath that is very clean and well equipped, especially the kitchen with spices and oils, some condiments and storage containers so that one need not immediately hop on the bus to Bahia to get supplies. The other guests and residents, many of whom are permanent were friendly and accommodating and helped us get the lay of the land quickly and even offered the use of surfboards and boogie boards. Being directly on the beach allowed for daily walks, playing frisbee and swimming in your back yard with perfect ocean temperatures or the pool if so inclined. Our favorite part was the local merchants that brought fresh fish and warm bread for sale throughout the week along with a wine distributor that offered some nice choices at reasonable prices. On the downside, there isn't much to do here and even the neighboring towns of Canoa, San Vicente and Bahia provide only a brief reprieve. The buses are frequent, cheap and reliable but take some practise to master, especially where and when to get off. Overall we enjoyed our 10 days here and the cost was good for the budget oriented, especially when you factor in how little you'll spend on anything else but food and booze.
