Conflicted.
If I say how truly GREAT this property is, I'm afraid it won't be available for us next year for our yearly fishing adventure!!! This property is by far the best that we have stayed, and we will be back every year. Thank you John.

Great place to stay-We'll be back!
We spent 8 days at this cute location. For the most part it was perfect. My only complaint is the traffic noise from the Overseas highway (just a block away) and the neighborhood "noise" (garbage and delivery trucks very early in the AM, and dogs barking all night). John answered our questions quickly and the place is very clean! The bonus kayak, paddle boards, and fish poles were a plus! We had three large manatees visit several times, which was really cool! There was a wonderful grill outside along with great patio furniture and a screened porch. The place was well stocked with everything you need. If you're really hoping to see manatees while visiting it's a sure bet you'll find them at Castaway Bar and Grill. Their air conditioning unit drips fresh water and there's always manatees hanging around to drink it! Our highlights were BahiaHonda State Park, Keys Fisheries (great food and drinks) and Horseshoe Beach for snorkeling. Enjoy and THANKS JOHN!

Great Marathon Vacation Home
We stayed a month at this home. It has everything one needs for a great vacation including a dock, kayak, fishing gear, a fish cleaning station and 2 paddle boards. The kitchen if fully equipped and includes virtually everything you’d have in your own home I.e. hand mixers, Bullet for smoothies, food processors, and all sorts of kitchen utensils. The dish washer, stove and microwave are in excellent condition. In summary, this is the best equipped vacation home I’ve ever stayed at

Family vacation
We rented the property for a week for family vacation. I enjoyed sunrises and coffee outside while listening to the fish in the canal. We enjoyed evenings in the screened in porch. Friendly neighbors; after 10pm town is very quiet. Our dog really enjoyed sitting outside in the evenings and mornings.

Home was just as described. Location was excellent. Loved that it was at the end of canal and you could sit on the end of dock looking down canal. Neighbors were freindly. Overall a wonderful stay!

Great location for our trip. Nice sea wall for docking the boat. Good afternoon shade in the backyard for cleaning up after being out on the boat all day. Easy access to ocean side or gulf. Close to all the great restaurants of Marathon. Nice canal view from dock for evening drinks. Convenient boat ramp just a couple blocks away. Owner answered all questions in a timely manner. Would stay here again.

Awesome stay - great for boating!
My family and I stayed at John’s waterfront place in Marathon. Super easy to get to by car as its right off US1. Deep water canal that comfortably fit our 25ft boat. It was about a 20min idle out to open water with restaurants, fuel docs, etc on the way. There was plenty of parking too (we fit the boat trailer, car trailer, two SUVs and a Truck)! The house was well stocked with items included in the listing, the only thing we didn’t have/couldn’t find were dishwasher tabs. That was no big deal considering publix & Walgreens were both within walking distance. Huge perk that this place is pet friendly too! The home was very comfortable and we really enjoyed our time there - especially for fishing and enjoying coffee on the dock. We even had a few manatee visits and saw tarpon rolling in the canal.

Excellent location - will be returning!
I cannot say enough about how wonderful our stay was. John was very helpful and made check-in/out an easy process. The house was set up with everything we could have needed for the week and more! We were able to park our boat outback with easy access to the Gulf or Atlantic. All the neighbors we met were super welcoming. They even gave us tips for fishing or places to eat. Speaking of.. the Conch Cafe, local deli, and a few others were less than a 5min walk that we frequented during our time there. By the end of the week we knew the people at the marina, Berdines, neighbors, and the dry dock down the street. A truly wonderful vacation that felt like home.

Florida Keys Road Trip
Found this house no problem, host pretty much spell everything out. Arrived at an approaching storm so the cable/wifi went out. John was very helpful as you can't control the weather. Everything was restored later that same night. Pictures are very accurate. Loved the screened porch the most. Made very good use of the washer/dryer after out long trip. My husband spoke to John who was very informative about area restaurants, neighbors and our dog. I loved the main bedrooms furniture, so antiquey! we also spent a few HH's sitting on the outdoor patio just enjoying the water and boat traffic. This is a great place with the fenced in yard should you be traveling with your dog as we did. It can get a bit noisy with the industry across the street, keep that in mind, did not having any trouble sleeping tho. Dog got a bit freaked out but she is crazy anyway. Would definitely stay here again.

Property was not clean. Bedding was full on dog hair showing bedding was washed. Ending up with Covid during stay. Not saying we got it there, but VRBO was not even basically clean at all.

Warm weather vacation
We had a great week at this rental home. It had almost everything you needed. There were iguanas, fish, and even a manatee! Only drawback is that it is close to the main road so there is some road noise, but with a white noise machine, you can drown it out. We would definitely visit again to enjoy the warm sunny weather :)

The place was clean and comfortable. However, it advertised that it sleeps 6. It doesnt. There are 2 bedrooms. One master with a queen bed. The second room has a double bed and a twin bed in it. That's only 5 people if a couple wants to share a room with a single or a kid. The couches recline but there isn't a hide a bed. There are 2 air mattresses that can be blown up if you want to sleep on the floor in the living room. The location is on an alley adjacent to many stores. Every morning at 5am a truck comes by and beeps very loudly and bangs dumpsters around or something. The positives are a nice screened in porch and a big deck to sit at right on the canal. The canal goes out into the mangroves so it makes kayaking fun. We saw manatees in the canal. The town of Marathon is nice in that it's centrally located to all the other keys. But the town itself isn't very nice. Overall I was happy with what we got for the price, with the exception of the sleeping arrangements. That was not clearly defined in the description.

Reef Retreat perfect place to explore the Keys.
The home is clean and well appointed with furniture, appliances and other amenities. It is centrally located in Marathon providing easy access to stores, beaches, parks and restaurants. It is just a block off Hwy 1 and right in the middle of the stretch between Key Largo and Key West. The owner provided very thorough check-in/check-out instructions as well as helpful notes about the property and area attractions. We felt very much at home here.
