We booked this property in May for a family of 4 and two small dogs. As our check-in day approached, so did Hurricane Beryl. Lisa, our host, was in communication with us days before landfall. We were able to reschedule to a few days later and have a really nice stay in Gorda. The house was clean and comfortable. She made sure we had everything we needed. :) While we were just a short walk over the dunes from the shore, we opted to drive and access the beach from Dunes Drive or the Visitor Center parking lot to avoid the mosquitoes. We hunted shells, built castles, boogie boarded, and fished. Castle building and boogie board were actually at the house already for our use. Overall, we had a really pleasant stay, and our host was kind, attentive, and patient with the shifting circumstances of shifting a booking around a hurricane. š
