"Matinicus is a lovely place to explore and enjoy and Isle Be Back was just perfect to stay at! The accommodations were great for our group - nice big kitchen to work in, plenty of space to hang out in, big back deck for dinners, and bedrooms simple but lovely. It's a great location in the center of the island to walk to the beaches, trails and around the island. Communication with host was super- quick responses and thoughtful."

"This is just what we were looking for - a comfortable place close to the water and hiking! We brought our dogs and enjoyed hiking and other activities close by. The cabin was comfortable and was a nice place for us to hang out at night as a family after spending the days exploring! We would love to come back! Great spot!"

"We loved our stay here. House is very clean and well stocked. We had one minor issue due to Mother Nature but owner was VERY responsive and quick to address the issue. Owner showed up at the house late at night and early next morning to make sure everything was ok. Super friendly. Good location from Portland and Bar Harbor. Would stay here again. Highly recommend."

"Had the good old field of what we always called a "camp." Kitchen was well stocked with utensils and glassware, etc. The lobster processing facility made for a bit of noise and a pretty steady stream of traffic. A lot of trucks, from pickups to semis coming in and out. Didn't really bother us a whole lot but it might bother other people. Overall the view of the water was pretty nice except for the power lines and there's not much that can be done about that. Have to have electricity after all."

"We spent three nights at Pauls Cottage. As a local host for vacation homes on Cape Cod. I pay attention to the details.The home had a three night minimum.The fee for the host was as much as the nightly rate. There for we expected the service to match the rate. Check in for the cottage was 4:00. We had a 4 1/2 hour drive and knew we would be coming in late. However, we did not hear from our host on how to enter the cottage. "Airy, clean & modern with lovely vintage decor touches throughout. Beautiful ocean views. Some street noise can be heard but the peaceful and private, nicely landscaped back lawn, large deck, really nice deck furniture & ocean views more than make up for that. "Overall we had a great stay. It is worth nothing that you can access the beach at the end of the road. The town of Rockland has a lot to offer and the house is close to Mcloons for Lobster rolls. The house suited us well and we would stay again."

"I traveled solo and it was the perfect respite. Check in is simple, Pilot welcomes you with a wagging tail and gives the grand tour. Having left my own furry friend at home, I was happy for his company. Furnishings are more updated than the photos show. I can't imagine anyone needing anything more than what this cottage provides. Mind your head when you climb the spiral staircase. I was grateful for the bluetooth speaker in the living room. This was a perfect solo stay, I'd recommend for couples...

"Our extended family stayed for one week at this beautiful waterfront home on Owl's head. We loved the set up of the house with the primary bedroom on one level and the other bedrooms on another. Every room had gorgeous views of the water. There was plenty of space to spread out with a living room upstairs & family room downstairs. We especially loved the nearby Holiday & Crocketts beach. We'd love to return again."
