Apartment could use some upgrades but excellent location and great staff attention
Starting off with the pros - this is in a great location, area is nice and safe. Staff was nice as well. Apartment covers all the neccessities you might need. They could improve some things - the couch for example, is a sofa bed but super uncomfortable, Its very hard, had to buy an inflatable bed to sleep on... Also, the kitchen could use some improvements, dish water doesnt work, limited utensils, etc. but overall, for the price and location, cant complain about much else. We enjoyed our stay!!

The location was excellent- 10min walk (not 4min, as advertised) to the beach, 10 min walk to Win Dixie grocery store and closest restaurants. Very safe and beautiful area. The property however (unit 203) needs some fixing and updating. Very old appliances, peeling paint, rusty sink in the bathroom, ants in the house, toilet water constantly running in master bathroom, bare minimum when it comes to kitchen utensils. There was not even a good sharp knife, no salt/pepper. It looks much better in the pictures than reality. The property is commercially managed, no one was answering the call when we arrived after hours (around 9pm), the mailbox was full. Overall a good stay, just the property itself needs some attention and love.

If you’re looking for luxury, this is not your place. However, if you’re looking for a place to stay that is good with a great location, then Coral Reef Apartments is your place. Our unit was in need of a few basic repairs, but it was sufficient for our needs. It is clean, but very basic. I would stay again.

Pictures not accurate for room
It was an adequate place to stay as a place to sleep but pictures online were not an accurate representation. We shhould have known better since the area was nice and the price was very reasonable. The rooms were somewhat in disrepair. Drawer knobs missing, stained laundry, toilets would constantly run, toilet levers were rusted through. Drains in sink would drain slowly. Room was not overlooking pool instead parking lot that was very bright. A couple nights lots of noise till 12:30. There was shade in bedroom but was not possible to get dark. Key for beach access did not work and manager Laughed and said “I know”- sounded like nothing was going to be done about it. No wash cloth towels available. The furniture was not close to quality pictured. The pool was nice and was close to beach and shops and state and county park.

Great location. Unit needs attention.
Location can’t be beat. The unit needs some serious attention to detail. Perhaps it is being renovated however some small items would go a long way - shower curtains that span the length of the shower, the refrigerator rattles, two of the stove burners don’t work, tile and paint chips, paint spatter, the furniture is rickety, dings in the wall and paint, and the couch is very uncomfortable. The beds were comfortable and the AC works great.

We had a wonderful stay at Key Biscayne and the staff were so accommodating and welcoming. Roberto did a wonderful job helping us and answering all our questions. The staff was warm and fulfilled all our requests. We would definitely come back

Perfect for a family vacay
Immediately upon arrival our host was so helpful and let us check in a couple hours early which was appreciated. The beach was just a short walk away. The space was tidy with plenty of room. The price was great. The only thing that I was a bit disappointed in was that we had no coffee machine in our room, but honestly that was fixed by just picking up some instant so id still give this property a 9/10 highly recommend and would stay again.

Good, not great
Front desk was friendly and helpful, making check-in easy. Room itself was sparse with cheap furniture and outdated kitchen. Our room on the ground floor was pretty dark, even with the lights on. It's loud when people walk by the interior facing windows, there was barely enough silverware, and the bathrooms were cramped. Plus, we weren't expecting the second room to have twin beds because the pictures didn't quite match the unit we actually got (seems like whole building is rental properties managed by the same checkin process on VRBO, so the pictures shown are not all the same unit, so it was tough to say what exactly we were getting). This all would be completely normal and appropriate for a cheaper rental property...but the price was WAY out of line for what we got. Really expensive VRBO for quite mediocre accommodations. I have family on Key Biscayne and understand demand is high during holiday season, but for me, this accommodation wasn't great value. Just a little more work to renovate the rooms might improve this.

Loved our stay
It was amazing. After being stuck inside for a couple years, we were looking forward to our first vacation. And staying at Coral Reef delivered. The apartment was spacious, the beds were perfect, and the kitchen provided everything we needed. Easy check in, and Alexandra and Bruno were always responsive. Best part, the beach!!! Thank you so much! We will definitely be going back!

Don’t bother
The unit had plenty of space and was clean. One problem is that the bedroom is a loft, so it collected all the hot air from the day. The A/C unit would run and make the downstairs freezing while the loft and bathroom were still hot. A ceiling fan would greatly improve things. Another issue was that the shower only got warm after waiting five minutes, never hot. Lastly, noise was a big problem! You can hear everything! We had noisy neighbors with babies crying at midnight for 30 minutes. The next night, maintenance people were working in the room next door until we called our contact person at ELEVEN PM to complain about drills, ladders, and workers talking. We didn’t get much rest while staying there. PS- we had to ask for washcloths and a roll of paper towels after checking in.

Great Location
Our stay was very enjoyable and it was awesome to have clean towels etc every day, definitely a plus. The location is great and it was nice to have a private pool. The property is a little out dated and the pictures can be a little deceiving, the rooms need a refresh. Overall the price is fantastic and people are friendly. We would definitely stay there again.

The property is outdated. You can tell they are trying to improve but it’s not working. You are paying for the location (Key Biscayne is beautiful) but the apartment is a cheap hotel at best. Hair dryer in master bathroom didn’t work, they ran out of wash clothes on a day so had to wait until next day for more, some outlets didn’t work, housekeeping cleaned but only replaced towels not other items (hence the washcloth issue). If you speak Spanish you will be fine with housekeeping. We don’t. Master bedroom did not have a dresser but kids room did so we lived out of the suitcase. TV stations are rather limited. I realize we didn’t go there to watch TV but by evening time you want to relax and watch something and you didn’t have many channels to choose from (local channels only). Appliances were cheap, smoke detector went off when using the oven because it hadn’t been cleaned, toaster only had one side that worked because the prongs sticking out on the other side would burn anything that was put in it. The pictures they show give the appearance of a nice room, it’s not as nice as it appears. House keeping walked in our apartment without knocking, thankfully everyone was dressed. Walls are thin, could hear everything happening around us. There are a few good things - location, roof over your head, access to private beach and location. You are a block from the beach (you need a key to access it or you have walk through another hotel’s campus). If you need a 1 night stay, it would be fine but we will not recommend this place to anyone.

I think you really pay for what you get here! It was a nice place, had a pool (mostly shade) and close to the beach. Room had basic amenities although only handful of tv channels and coffee pot did not work. Overall we enjoyed!
