Great stay!
Wonderful location, loved the overall vibes/aesthetic, nice to have a hot tub and deep bath tub, and the hosts were very helpful during our stay. They always responded to my questions in a timely manner. The Wi-Fi wasn't working during our stay but the hosts were actively working to fix it with the internet company. It was just unfortunate timing and it seems that the Wi-Fi usually works fine for other guests.

Nice Getaway but leave the pets at home
Great location and nicely appointed house for getaway weekend. Kitchen adequately stocked if you want to cook at the house. (BYO seasoning basics.) Comfy beds and nice bathrooms. Nice option for a couple or small group. However...Please leave your pets at home. The perforated metal stairs and flooring on the second level are not safe for pets of any size. Our small/med size dog lost three nails and nearly dislocated a hip coming down the stairs.

Winter retreat for grant writing
This is a Buyer Beware location. It is a party house for young people. The positive: Daylight is good with large windows. Recommend that is you want creature comforts (such as easily accessible microwave, door locks that a person can easily work, hand rails for outdoor steps, hot water enough for 2 baths within 2 hours, comfortable seating for desk work) that you look somewhere else. Also recommend that if you are a "rule follower" you ask to see the Occupancy Agreement before signing on. You will not only discover the rules and associated fines for breaking the rules, but you will get a sense of the emotional vibe that accompanies the house. This is purely a profit making venture, it is not a loved home that someone is happy to share with you. Note that while this is a "dog friendly" rental, dogs can easily catch their toes and hurt themselves on the metal stairs inside the house.

Unique Stay
Nice property- beds were very comfortable. Towels were clean and plenty. Stairs were a bit annoying and so was just the one shower, but we knew the latter when we rented it. Outside of the home in back should be power washed. There were some flies inside the home and many little midges when we entered. So we contacted the rental property about borrowing a vacuum to get rid of them. Advertised as having access to the beach but it was not so that was disappointing. Loved the hot tub! Thanks for nice welcoming emails and information. A very unique place to stay!

Clean Lines in this Modern Getaway
We enjoyed our weekend stay in Michigan City. This home in like a tiny house on steroids with smart uses of space. It's a great spot for small groups of adults or a family with older kids. It worked well for our group. The layout is unique & the roof area is a lot of fun, but wouldn't be ideal with young children due to the roof access from the guest room and the guest bath on the 1st floor. Both bedrooms are on the 2nd level with access to a full bath in the master. Though it's just a tub in the master bath, we were able to utilize the spray nozzle for careful showering as well. Smart engineering went into this build, and it was interesting to see and fun to stay in! The walk to the beach wasn't bad at all, we'd definitely stay again!

nice but...
This is a nice stay with some drawbacks. The landscaping was run to riot and hard to get to the front door with all the grasses and weeds growing out over the walk way. The Hot tub was nice and the upper rooftop deck was also very nice. The lack of window coverings is really quite hard to imagine. Neighbors house has a window that looks right into the second bedroom and there are no shades etc. The metal grates for stairs are very modern and architectural however, they allow any sand or floor debris on your feet to pass right through onto the stove and half the countertop below. There are no closets or dressers in the main bedroom, however there are some drawers under the 2nd bedroom bed. The sound system is cryptic at best. Otherwise it is a nice location and great beds. For the price it was not worth the amount we paid, even considering the busy weekend we had booked.

The house is a wonderful open concept; clean and modern and very relaxing. Hot tub was in great condition, and the rooftop patio is tremendous. Walking distance to great beaches.

Such a great property. We cooked alot and had everything we needed. Only knock is if you have a small child like we did the rooms are not soundproof! Not a big deal at all but thought I should note that!

Good overall...
Good overall but glad I read some of the reviews. There is a new home being built next door and I was glad I knew that beforehand. The owner should rethink the drapery options with the new neighbors. The grounds could have used a good spring clean up and weeding. I like the concept of the grasses in the landscape but they still need some maintenance. We enjoyed the rooftop deck area and the beds were very comfortable. I never would have found the microwave if it wasn't for one of the reviews stating it was above the refrigerator. I am tall and this was awkward for me. It would be unsafe for a shorter person. Please reconsider the microwave placement as well. It is a very interesting home and something a little different than our own home which made it nice for a short getaway. I would just expect a little more attention to some of the details at the current nightly rate.

Great funky house with a great location. The house is a nice as the pictures. Lots of amenities whether cooking, grilling or eating out. This was our 2nd stay at Beachy Keen!

Perfect Location!
The location of the house was perfect. Just a short walk to the beach and close to everything. Extremely quiet during the day and night! Absolutely loved the rooftop deck and the privacy! Would definitely stay here again and recommend. Only con was storage space and zero closet available in the master bedroom.

Consider Somewhere Else
The property is beautiful. The entire house is contemporary and looks similar to a house on HGTV. That's where it stops. First, cleanliness: This house was disgusting. The floors were not cleaned prior to our arrival. Walking around barefoot was not an option. It left our feet black as night. This continued after we cleaned it. The dining table, while beautiful, was sticky. We purchased our own cleaning supplies, but the stickiness would not go away. The kitchen cupboards are beautiful, but every plate and glassware had some sort of bug in it. Second, fixtures: there are two bathrooms, one upstairs and one downstairs. The latter bathroom required a maintenance person as soon as we arrived as the tank did not fill up. His recommendation: hit the plunger with a crescent wrench. The toilets are Toto's, so this suggestion was not something that I would have thought of, but it is what it is. Although we were told that he would be back to fix it, he never returned. In the same bathroom, the sink (again beautiful design) leaked every time that you washed your hands. After reporting it, I was told that it would be added to the areas that the maintenance person would fix. However, he never showed up, so that never got fixed either. Third, storage: There are no closets or dressers in the entire house. Not really sure why the design lacked this common, and necessary, feature, but you are living out of your bags. Fourth, landscaping: The walk-path had overgrown grass covers. I understand the beach vibe they are seeking, however, this made it difficult for my seniors and luggage to walk on. Fifth, security: Not exactly why, but the design to lock the doors is cumbersome, as it will not be familiar to many. Holding the handle up with turning the keys to lock. Sixth, seniors: As mentioned, this house is NOT for seniors. Enough said. Seventh, hot tub: Prior to our arrival, I requested a 3-4 pm check-in to allow my parents the ability to relax a bit more, however, I was informed that due to a different party leaving hours before our arrival, that request could not be met. However, I have my suspicion that that was a lie because the following day of our arrival, a hot tub tech came out to shock the water. He stated that because the unit had not been used, to stay out for 24 hours. In closing, while this home is beyond beautiful, there are many aspects that the owners are negligent on. Find a different home

Fun home, close to beach
We enjoyed our stay. The house was clean and as described. The floor-to-ceiling windows are aesthetically pleasing and compliment the modern style, but do not offer a lot of privacy. The hot tub was very clean and the roof top deck was a fun spot to hang out. The beach is an easy 10 minute walk from the house.

Great Staycation!
Beautiful modern house in a quiet neighborhood! The bathtub and hot tub were both awesome. Comes with surround sound which is great for movie watching and beautiful big windows. Absolutely great! Would come back

Fantastic Modern House
Loved this property - just our style. Perfect for a couple or even two. Great location near the beach. Tons of nearby amenities. Unfortunately, we chose to in the winter or else we could have enjoyed the amazing rooftop! We'll be back!

Just what we were looking for!
We were looking for a cozy place to unplug and enjoy our family. This was the perfect place to do it. This house is close to everything and located in a very quiet neighborhood. We were a bit thrown off by the mixed neighborhood at first, but found it quiet & safe. We brought our furbaby and he loved playing fetch in the nearby parks!
