A friend and I took our teenage daughters for a weekend of spa service, shopping & good food. The Tree House was available, cute, & claimed to sleep 4.
I’ve been using VRBO for years & haven’t ever had a problem with check in or check out. William; the owner, had checked in with me a couple times to see when I’d be arriving. I told him I wasn’t sure, but I’d text when we were on our way.I did so, & he said he’d leave the “paperwork” for me.When we arrived I checked my app & email for instructions on parking & where to get in. There was nothing. We tried multiple doors before finding the steps & a door with a lockbox. I double checked my app, no code, no directions, no key. We sat on the deck waiting for a text from William, until one point we heard some papers shuffling, we hoped there would be a code. NO CODE. There were rules for the house, & there was a number for a manager. I text the manager & about a half hour later she text indicating she was on her way with a key in an hour. Now sweaty, starving and already having missed our dinner reservation we decided to go find some food.
When we returned the unlit yard was tricky to navigate, but The key waiting for us! We walked in, but couldn’t find the 2nd bdrm. We finally realized we needed to go into this SCARY, DARK UNFINISHED work area with only motion lights to get to the 2nd bdrm. There are NO PICTURES of this on VRBO. It was so unsettling all 4 of us slept on the daybed/trundle. $428, & he offered wine & a $50 voucher.
