I booked this property for 1 night to take a break from camping. I don’t usually write reviews, but there were just too many disappointments with this property that other people thinking of booking this property should be aware of.
1. Price: the additional fees were endless, and the total ended up being 2x the listed rate.
2. Check-in: when we got there, the provided lock key code didn’t work. The first Vacasa rep I got ahold of after waiting on hold for 15 mins was an odd interaction. She didn’t understand the type of lock box and eventually just abruptly sent me to the automated short survey to inquire about my service experience, WITHOUT RESOLVING THE FACT I WAS STILL LOCKED OUT OF THE PROPERTY.
I called a second time, again waiting on hold, and started explaining the situation to another Vacasa rep. Meanwhile, a family across the street is having the exact same issue - the lock box key code doesn’t work. We jokingly share our provided 4 digit codes thinking maybe they mixed them up - nope. As I was talking to the rep, I started walking around to the back of the property. There i found an unlocked screen door and was able to unlock the front door from the inside. A few minutes later, the Vacasa rep was able to give me a new lock box code that actually worked. Unfortunately the family across the street wasn’t as lucky. I’d say they were locked out of their property for well over an hour before they were able to get it.
3. Cleanliness: the cleaning fee is an absolute joke. During Covid you have a somewhat higher expectation, and you will no doubt find on Vacasa’s website how committed they are to cleaning and disinfecting. However it’s all a facade - be prepared to clean the place yourself if/when you are able to check-in. There was crusted food stuck to the bowls and dishes. Silverware and glasses all needed to be hand washed. In the bathroom, there was hair all over the floor, telling us no vacuuming occurred. Washing sheets is apparently also not part of their cleaning fee, because the same hair could be found on the bed sheets and pillows. Thankfully we had sleeping bags.
Overall it is a nice, new place, but going forward I’ll probably avoid any properties managed by Vacasa.
