Great house, great location

This house is in a great location on top of Eagle River. Spacious house, beautiful sunsets, ideal location to travel up and down the Keweenaw Peninsula.

Bucket List

When I retired in April 2024, one of my bucket list items was to see the Northern Lights.. and Dragonfly Cottage delivered with that item and many more delights. We three elderly ladies felt very safe and comfortable and had no trouble finding fun things to do in Eagle River, Eagle Harbor, and Copper Harbor. Thanks for a lovely stay.

House and location was wonderful, but there were a few things that we were not happy about.

The house was big and had a lot to offer. The first thing we encountered when entering the kitchen was mouse poop all over the counters and in drawers where silverware and dish towels were housed. We understand a house this old usually has mice come in, especially in the fall. The current owners should have reviewed the property before offering it as a rental and sealed up the many visible access points at the top of the basement stairs and probably under the stove and sink. The second thing we noticed upon arrival as there was no hot water. My husband and son did everything the rental management told us to do and eventually we were told there was a re-set switch at the bottom of the water heater. This helped, but we had to re-set it twice a day and wait for the water to heat up in the tank. We had to strategically plan our showers, cooking and dish washing around it if we wanted hot water. This was very annoying. We rented this house because we have numerous food allergies and other special needs that required us to prepare, cook and wash dishes from 3 meals a day! Can you imagine doing this with hit or miss hot water??? Plus, we stacked all our food in packaging or ziplock bags on the nice, large island, so we could have it as an accessible pantry. To our surprise we woke up on our first morning to find holes in the ziplocks where the mice had a midnight snack!!! After that we had to store everything in our big plastic totes and cooler! Return to the Keweenaw

It was perfect. The large suite on the main floor was big enough for my daughter, son-in-law and their three young children to sleep. We loved the kitchen too. There was only one negative that we all agreed on. The "sofa" in the front room is very uncomfortable. It was a very happy return to the Keweenaw for all of us.

Great place to stay

Dropped our son off at Michigan Tech and decided to stay here rather than at a hotel for our family of 5. Its a beautiful old building that is very well maintained and very clean. The host was responsive and helpful throughout the whole process. Highly recommended.

Was a great location and lots of space for spreading out. Beautiful house. Great communication when refrigerator was out... but didn't make for the best stay without.

Wedding at haven falls

A bit of a challenge for the two year old to “not touch” things, but plenty of books for us to read to him and games for the adults. Lots of places near by. Had a wedding dinner at Fitzgeralds, which was fabulous. Great location. Would recommend to others and probably come back when I visit my daughtet

Cute older house

Very nice and my grandkids loved it very much. I'm 58 with some stability issues and the steps going upstairs were way to much for me. Overall the place was very nice

Celebrating life with family

The Dragonfly Cottage was everything we needed for a great family weekend. The cottage is beautiful! It had all the amenities we needed. It was close to a playground and walking distance to the lake. The sunsets are amazing. The space is large and accommodated us with extended family.

The area is so quiet and peaceful. We slept incredibly well. Dragonfly cottage is so cute and tastefully updated. Each room had unique touches. There were plenty of pillows and towels for everyone. The kitchen had all of the necessary cooking implements. We loved being so close to Lake Superior! There were great recommendations for local restaurants that did not disappoint. Our only complaint was the game selection; Clue did not have any of the game sheets. It rained two of the days we were there, so we would have liked more game options.

nice place to see colors in fall

Nice old house, comfy beds, very decent kitchen (we ate out except breakfast and one lunch, but very adequate) You can walk down to the water and a great restaurant Fitzgeralds, walk up is steep. Great place to come see the colors in the fall!.

Good time had by all

We all had a wonderful time staying at the dragon fly cottage. The cottage is located in the center of everything we wanted to go visit. I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone & everyone who is looking for a central place to stay for sightseeing in the area.

Family memories in Eagle River, Mi

Loved the house, character, large, 4 BD & 3 BA was perfect, great central location, porch was amazing! Quiet, and very relaxing - I highly recommend! Fitzgerald’s restaurant is close, pricy, but well worth it - the food is dynamite! Only issue - the living room couch is not very comfy for sitting through a movie, but we did not use the living room much because we were exploring. The kitchen is great to hang out in - nice big island! So, stay here ....so much to do and see! YOU WILL LOVE IT!!

Keewanaw Getaway

Overall this was a wonderful, large home that accommodated 4 adults and 2 children. Easy access to M26 and lake Superior along with Eagle Harbor and Copper Harbor being a short drive up M26. Beautiful area that we hope to visit again.

Great location

Perfect location between Calumet and Copper Harbor. House was clean and well-appointed. The playground/park just down the street was a nice surprise as well. Also, enjoyed our short walk down to the water for Fitzgeralds and watching the sunset. Would definitely stay again.

What a beautiful house. We enjoyed a relaxing few days. This is by far the best stocked rentals we have been to during and post COVID. We had no issues during our time. Thank you and we definitely plan on returning in the future.
