"Stayed 3 nights and could have easily stayed longer. So many fun activities around the property. We loved every minute of getting away from the everyday city life. My boys (8 & 10) and dog were in heaven. It's a fully stocked place and we actually packed too much. Just FYI we have Xfinity for Internet and cell and we didn't have service for either untill about 20 min down the hill. Highly recommend doing the guided Cavern Tour and going to the river access off Electra Rd (search Vaughts Beach)....

"Everything was perfect about this trip. A lot of rest, hiking, eating, and quiet. We loved the house with the beautiful decks, well stocked kitchen, comfy bed, cozy living room and it was pet friendly so our golden could be part of the adventure. Beverley was a gracious and kind host. We will definitely return!"

"This place was beautiful and clean. Location was great. HOWEVER, there were NO toiletries at all… first time I have EVER experience that so that was a shock. We were not prepared for that. Also, if you plan to cook, there is only salt and pepper so bring everything you need. "

"Property was clean and the kitchen was fully stocked. Beds were comfortable.TV not easy to use. Had a great time. Biggest problem was it took 3 hours to get in because of bad codes for door entrance. Then bad lock box code. Finally when someone showed up they opened lock with a another code which they didn't give us!"

"I don't usually write VRBO reviews but this place was the TOPS From the very beginning of the booking process Del was very helpful. Del met us upon arrival and first look of the property beautiful lots of green plants ,flowers, grass. He gave us a brief tour of the house and how things work and where things were located. "I visited for a quick retreat, and picked this cabin because of its proximity to Calaveras Big Trees State Park. The cabin is as-described: good kitchen, comfortable beds, nice views. If you stay here, check out the South Grove trail, it's the best in the park (and it you're here for multiple days, save that trail for last). I am very glad I read the reviews. I saw another reviewer's warning about the driveway. If you rent here, arrive before dark, seriously. I got in fine because I came in...

"My kids really liked the layout and looking at the books and toys. We found lots to do in the area, and the kitchen was really well equipped. We had a handful of small issues with furniture and setup, it is an older home, but the host responded quickly and positively. The listing was clear about lack of AC but that was more challenging than we expected in August due to the large windows and there was a heatwave. Would recommend for other families looking for a home base in the area. "
