Stunning Views - Maybe too quiet for some.

Stunning views, nice and quiet. That said, if you don’t like driving up mountain roads then this is not for you. Not much in the local village of Selva so you have to go down to the lakeside to find shops etc. Nearest big supermarket is in nearby Colico. Nearest beach is in Domaso but the beach at Piona in Colico is much nicer for swimming. Main issue is that because you are up in the woods there are a lot of insects. Unfortunately the place has no fly screens or net curtains so you have to close the shutters and the place gets very hot at night. The pools/waterfalls shown nearby are about 400m away. - not really deep enough for swimming but good fora dip.. That said worth a visit. However, the “lower” path which leads to the best pools is a bit more of a trek as the path is quite overgrown and you will have to scramble down some banks. There are markers on trees to help as the instructions provided are not great. Not for those with mobility problems. The Upper path is quite steep but easier to navigate - but the pools aren;t as big.

Insgesamt nicht zu empfehlen

Die Lage des Hauses ist traumhaft und die schön eingerichtete Wohnung machte einen sauberen Eindruck. Unschön war allerdings das Bad – die Fugen im Bereich der Wanne waren größtenteils schwarz und der Duschvorhang voll mit Schimmel. Wirklich problematisch aber war der fehlende Trittschallschutz zur darüberliegenden Wohnung. Solange die Gäste ab 24.00 Uhr auch schlafen, ist das ja halbwegs hinnehmbar. An den letzten beiden Tagen/Nächten war aber an 7 junge Männer (alle ca. 20 Jahre) vermietet, die die Nacht zum Tag gemacht haben. An Schlaf war da jedenfalls absolut nicht mehr zu denken. Und da fragt man sich schon, wieso der Vermieter - ohne Rücksicht auf die Urlauber der Erdgeschosswohnung - an eine Gruppe junger Männer vermietet, die natürlich Party machen wollen und wohl auch eine andere Vorstellung von Urlaub haben. Der absolute Knaller kam dann aber zwei Tage nach unserer Rückkehr, als der Vermieter uns das Foto eines Tisches mit einer - angeblich von uns verursachten - Beschädigung zusandte. Die Beschädigung war aber bereits vorhanden, außerdem zeigte das zugesandte Foto definitiv nicht den Zustand des Tisches wie er bei unsere Abreise war. Obwohl wir dies sofort mitgeteilt haben, wurde die komplette Kaution von 500,00 € einbehalten. Dies ist offensichtlich nicht das erste Mal, dass der Vermieter mit allen Mitteln versucht die Kaution einzubehalten, wie man nachlesen kann. Die Sache wird nun von Fewo-Direkt sowie dem Kreditkarteninstitut geprüft. Fazit: Keine Empfehlung!

Beautiful view on the lake from the nice garden

We (family with two kids) had a very nice time in Le Tartarughe. The flat is nice and the view to the lake from the garden is very beautiful. Every day we had our breakfast on the terrace.

Verblijf met schitterend uitzicht!

Mooi verblijf boven op de berg met een geweldig uitzicht over het Comomeer. Grote woonkamer mer keuken. Goede bedden en badkamer. Airco aanwezig maar heeft geen afvoer naar buiten Helaas geen horren, 's nachts moeten de grote ramen dicht blijven.

Tolle Lage, schöne Wohnung

Eine wirklich schöne Wohnung in toller Lage. Leider etwas hellhörig. Die Auffahrt zur Wohnung für meinen Geschmack etwas knifflig (sehr steil). Würde aber hier jederzeit wieder Urlaub machen! Wunderschöner Garten und tolle Terrasse! Top

Beautiful view and large garden

We stayed for a week in july, 7 persons and a dog. The house is located next to the forrest on the mountain, with a beautiful veiw. It is clean and well equiped with a nice, big garden, perfect for children and dogs. A great base for a week to explore the Como- area.

Pfingsreise

Das Appartement ist großzügig und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Sehr hell, ruhig und bis auf das Kinderzimmer sehr geräumig. Die Küche ist perfekt eingerichtet und man kann ganz wunderbar auf der Terrasse sitzen und den Blick auf den gegenüberliegenden Berg und den See genießen. Wir hatten einen sehr entspannten Aufenthalt .

We loved it!

We were very excited to find such a gem for such a price and when we got there it was even better than expected! The view is incredible. The place was clean and warm and had everything we needed. The hike to the waterfall was beautiful and fun. Our three kids and our dog had many adventures on the large property. There are many hikes in the area. Check in and out was easy. We are definitely going back!

Home with a view

The appartment is very spacy, clean, well equipped and also very cosy. Due to the wooden blinds and the stone floor the appart was still cool while outside temperatures of 32 degrees and hence very suitable for dogs. The garden is also very large and has a magnificent view on the lake and mountains.

A spectacular stay in Como

We are very grateful to Paolo for his fantastic hospitality! We had an amazing view of Lake Como from the garden! The kids enjoyed the Waterfall which provided a refreshing dip after a very hot day! Overall a wonderful experience and delightful stay in Como

Beautiful quiet spot and marvellous view

Paolo created a wonderful hideout in Montemezzo! The apartment is located in a very quiet area without traffic noise. The view on the lake and the valley is wonderful. The apartment itself has evereything you need for a relaxing vacation, inlcuding a good kitchen equipment, large fridge and wifi. Paolo is a wonderful host who is very helpful and did everything to make our stay pleasant and comfortable (for instance: he arranged bow and arrows for the kids, brought an air conditioner). When I called him at some point to ask something bout the aprtment he specially came over to ask whether everything was to our liking. We had very nice conversations with him and particulary liked the story about how he created the house. We had a lovely time and surely will return some time!

Exploring Italy
