Lleno de naturaleza
Es un lugar muy espacioso, rodeado de naturaleza, nos visitaron muchos monos lo cual hace la experiencia con la naturaleza muy real. La ubicación es excelente con muy buenos lugares cerca para comer.

This is what you call a Home away home
As cliche as it may sound, Monteverde is heaven on earth. Hands down the most beautiful place with the most beautiful views. Clean, spacious, unique modern style. Casa Guarumo photos look accurate and Sergio - the house owner - provided great amenities. The beds are extremely cozy. :) The house itself is fantastic, with an open view of Monteverde's forest. It is also conveniently located, just less than a minute from a main road with coffee shops and a small market. Rafael, who by the way is an amazing host, took the time to arranged everything we may require so we didn't have to make an extra effort to cover our needs. We have to go back and visit Casa Guarumo during vacation time again, because our expectations were definitely exceeded by this magical place.

Monteverde gem!
Sergio's home was the perfect location to explore the Monteverde region and convenient to several excellent restaurants. Rafa and Anita were wonderful and helpful in arranging tours for us. The house is very unique and well equipped. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Many thanks Sergio!

Magical Getaway - My all-time favorite online booking discovery!
There are no words to describe such a wonderful experience in this spectacular home the middle of this mystical forest! The whole weekend was a peaceful and re-energizing experience. I rented this home for 15+ guests to celebrate my birthday. All of us slept comfortably and there were even some spare beds remaining! The house has the most hip architecture, interior design and best of all, magical gardens and trees surrounding the entire house! When we arrived, everything was extremely clean and the cleaning lady that comes in the mornings was very kind. The house also had all of the amenities you could wish for. Sergio (the host) was very attentive to our arrival and responsive to any questions I had. The house has a really cool bar to hang out with friends and an awesome fire place. There is a delicious breakfast spot and some natural reserves to go hiking, all walking distance from the house. At night, we went to the local sushi rest downtown (5-8 min drive) and we had the most wonderful food! Everything was delicious. I absolutely recommend this home for friends and/or family holidays! I am already planning my next stay :) P.S. If you go, don´t miss the sushi place! Ask the host for the address

Wonderful mountain house
We stayed in June for 4 nights, it was a large family gathering. The house and garden are a conglomerate of multiple rooms on the side of a hill that are not connected to each other but you can access from outside. Each room has its own balcony view and charm. The garden had lots of flora and intricate pathways, zig zagging to the rooms. When it rains it can be wet and slippery; it was the rainy season. The main living room and kitchen is well equipped with pots, pans, kettle, coffee maker, microwave, large toaster. We spent most of our time here and enjoyed playing card games on the large table. Plenty of sleeping options, lots of warm blankets, large safe to keep documents and laptops (ipads). The best part of the house was early morning and evening bird watching from kitchen balcony; lots of humming birds, emerald toucanets, motmots, trogans, finches... in addition to birds there were some larger animals that visited as well; squirrels, peahens, coatis, armadillos, agoutis.. In the night you can hear them jumping on the roofs.

Fabulous vacation home for our family of 12!
The caretakers Maria and Jorge were terrific. Wonderful pool. Lots of places for small groups to gather. Saw monkeys in the trees at the house on our first night here!

Cloud forest experience
You literally feel like you’re staying in the forest - the property is beautiful and expansive, the rooms are spread out a bit and there’s quite a few stairs involved. I had my old parents (75 yrs+) who could walk up and down the stairs - we kept that to once a day though so they didn’t have to make multiple trips up and down. Our teenage boys took the rooms that were detached from the main unit while our parents and us stayed in adjacent rooms which are part of the main unit. Taking the luggage up & down for Checkin and checkout was certainly a bit of a haul - so, you need to be ready for that if you’re carrying a few check in bags. Our teenage boys got some workout with me:-) The location is very nice - we didn’t get to see the moneys as they never showed up. Stella’s bakery next door is great for breakfast & brunches. The host even arranged tour guide for night walk etc and provided tips for booking zipline etc. Selvatura park was a great family experience for Zipline as well as sloth habitat, butterfly garden, etc. Overall, a memorable cloud forest expedition staying at this property.

Great base for Monteverde
The house is very large so everyone could have there own room - all ensuite. Very well equipped kitchen. We really liked the location on Monteverde which allowed us to walk from the house to restaurant, shops and nature walks. We saw an Armadillo by the gate on the first evening. Highly recommended for big groups. Wish we could have stayed longer - 2 nights was not enough. Also the weather was much warmer than we expected.

Best stay ever!
We enjoyed this home and the Monteverde area. The home was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked. We saw lots of wildlife on the property including birds, agouti, monkeys!!!

Monteverde retreat
Very spacious, unusual eclectic property in heart of Monteverde. Kenny made sure we had all we needed. Our family had plenty of space for privacy and the main gathering room was perfect for dinner and being together as a group. Moderate walk to town with hills but easy walk to Stellas and restaurants/shops near by. Stellas is fantastic food with wonderful presentation. Monkeys are very entertaining. Think bohemian vs. Hyatt. We really enjoyed our time!

Fantastic property. Very comfortable - every room has its own bathroom, tasteful, clean. Tons of space. Very well appointed with everything one could need. Best place we stayed in during our trip to Costa Rica. Loved the wildlife and proximity to all Monteverde activities. Had a wonderful visit from a monkey family who wanted to snack on our food.

Unique home in a wonderful location
Our family of seven (four adults and three kids) stayed at this beautiful and unique home for two nights. There are many places to sleep, including several beds with private bathrooms and lots of uniquely designed sofas that convert into extra beds, depending on how you want to arrange yourselves. The house is surrounded by amazing wildlife. We saw beautiful birds each morning, and were visited by a small and entertaining troop of white faced capuchin monkeys one morning. The location is outside the hustle and bustle of Monteverde, but just a few minutes walk from Stella's (a favorite for healthy and delicious breakfasts and lunches) and a few other stores and restaurants. Sergio was very responsive to any questions that came up, both before and during our stay. Thanks for a great stay!

Convenience stay
The main apartment is large and quite nice. The other apartments are in varying levels of updated Ness. And they were all clean. Beds were comfortable. And we had a large group of six adults and four children so it fit the bill in.

Private property near Monteverde
This unique property was a great place to experience Monteverde. The location was great and we loved watching the birds and the monkeys! The bedrooms were all private with their own bathrooms. Would recommend for couples and families with older children!

Magical
This is the most beautiful and magical place I have ever stayed. The house is lovely and our group of 11 had plenty of space the beds were comfy and monkeys came to visit in the afternoons most days for a banana! On the property we saw the aguite (a large Guinea pig that is local here) and a local raccoon like animal, tons of birds, stick bug and leaf bugs. The magic of this amazing place came to us. Jairo and Jeanne cooked for us and made the most amazing food and accommodated our group (half our vegetarian) with amazing food and introduced us to local fruits and vegetables that we would never have experienced at a local restaurant. Everything was beyond perfect. I will miss this place so much!!!!

Interesting spot tucked away in a small village
Very quiet spot, even though it is up just a short dirt road from the main road through the area. Some great space for hanging out on this property. We had 9 people, and we didn't even utilize all of the space, generally hanging out in the main kitchen area. Daily visits from white-faced monkeys were a good source of entertainment. The local "town" is rather small, but the larger Santa Elana is less than 10 minutes, with access to groceries, restaurants/sodas, and other shops. This is a great location as a base camp for excursions around Monteverde, including the biological preserve and other activities like zip-lining and hanging bridges. The listing shows it is for up to 12 people. There are a few more private bedrooms, but there are several small beds that are less private. Fine if people are ok with just sleeping anyplace, but a bit limited on individual private spaces. We were able to spread out, but 2 kids were sleeping in the "semi-private" bedroom that is basically a half wall separated from the kitchen. We all still had a great time, and the rest of the space is quite a fun layout. I would certainly recommend it!

Beautiful home in a great location...and monkeys!!!
Very unique home with plenty of space for larger groups...but also a good choice for less people. Beautiful, well maintained property that put you right in the middle of the cloud forest. Would definitely recommend and the clincher was the monkeys on the porch in the afternoon...just an awesome experience to hear them running around on the roof of the house, entertaining us through the windows, and interacting with everyone in the family...an experience that everyone in the family will never forget!

Perfect location in Monteverde
The house is situated perfectly to excess all that monteverde has to offer. We were able to walk to the preserve and to the nearest restaurants. The monkey's at the house were highly entertaining and the birding at the house was fantastic.

Fun spot to stay in Monteverde
This is a fun property that even includes your own amphitheater! As a family of 6, everyone had room to both spread out and to hang out together. The kitchen is well stocked with pots and pans, so it was easy to cook our meals. ARRIVAL TIP - Do not trust GPS coordinates on Google Map as a way to arrive, that is not trustworthy in this part of the world. Instead orient yourself to Stellas restaurant. If you find yourself leaving Santa Elena and heading down to San Luis, you are going the wrong way.

Beautiful home
Beautiful location and property. Since we were only 2 people most rooms were locked except the main house. Lots of wildlife. Sergio and team were wonderful. Only complaint would be that the team arrived early on our last day to prep for the next guests. Check out eas 10a and they were there before 8a. Would have been nice to have a few hours of quiet, especially since it was our honeymoon. Other than that everything was great.
