Mountain Spirit Cabin

I gave this cabin 4 stars for location. The cleanliness was lacking. upon arrival the coffee pot was dirty and full of grounds. There was a terrible smell coming from the garbage disposal. Had to flush it out with soapy water several times. The bathroom rugs were dirty, which is inexcusable given the on site washer and dryer. There was dog hair throughout from the previous guests. The TV (Hulu) never worked the entire time. Calls to management were not helpful. Given the price, I wouldn't stay again .

Disappointing

I would like to start out by saying that this is a beautiful cabin. Unfortunately, it has not received the care/attention it deserves. Upon arrival we found the hot tub had a green tint to the water and the surface of the inside was covered in a film of algae. The WiFi did not work for our entire stay, as well as the fire place being out of order. I called management 2x during their business hours and only received an answer or call back to 1 call. They did send someone to come empty the hot tub and refill it. I believe the water needs treated, by the time we left the algae seemed to be returning. He was not able to resolve the issue with the fireplace and we did not receive any follow up on the WiFi issue. There was a nice selection of books with titles that would suit most readers of any age. There were also board games. The upstairs shower needed cleaned. There was black gunk growing in the grout on the floor and it felt somewhat slimy when wet. The down stairs shower was cleaner. There were small rugs throughout the home that looked as if they had not been washed in quite awhile and the garbage disposal smelled as if it needed emptied and cleaned. Overall, I do not feel that this stay was worth the price we paid.

We'll be back next year! Absolutely love this cabin. We spent the day hiking then the evening relaxing by the fire and hot tub!! Perfect little get away for me and my husband.

After a HUGE snafu, everything ended up working out. Thanks again to Julie and Robert for all your help.Directional signs very confusing in my opinion. Cabin is in a fun location in the woods and we definitely enjoyed our stay.

Best Christmas EVER!

My Spouse and I stayed at Mountain Spirit the week of Christmas. We had two dogs with us and took advantage of the nearby trails. The living room was cozy and did not feel cramped and the fireplace at night was perfect! We cooked everyday, the kitchen was well supplied with cookware. It was a quick 15 minutes to get to the grocery in Stanton. Beautiful view from the large A-frame windows! The road up to the propery is steep as advertised. We drive a newer Toyota Rav 4 adventure and it made it up just fine in in the rock/dirt setting.Thank you! We will be back!

Perfect little getaway

It was a nice little weekend getaway. The cabin looked exactly like the photos. The location was far enough tucked into the woods but close enough to the main town area for goods. It was snowy and it was the nice little cherry on top. Beautiful up in that area.

We were very worries about the driveway but it wasnt as bad as we expected. The house manager contacted us due to bad weather coming in and any questions we had was answered quickly. The hot tub was amazing and we really really enjoyed our stay.

We decided we need a night away and this house had everything we were looking for! It was clean, easy to find and the perfect size for 2 people. I would recommend a 4-wheel drive vehicle though! Thanks for a great stay!

Cute cabin but...

The cabin was cute. It has everything a family would need. Washer and dryer, cooking equipment, games, soaps and paper towels etc. but it should be better maintained. We arrived late at night only to find out that the beds had not been cleaned and were filthy. Lots of long hairs, crumbs, etc. there were no extra sheets so we had to wash everything before we could sleep. My young daughters were exhausted and we had to put them on the couch to sleep while we got everything washed and dried. Because of that we did not know if anything else was clean truly. All the blankets were thrown into a hamper but we're not folded so we assumed those were forgotten just like the beds. All in all it was ok but was definitely expecting the basics to be covered

It was a very nice, clean and cute cabin! 16 minutes away from a town/kroger lol! A quick drive to Red River Gorge. The little road up to the cabin was a little rough but both my mini SUV and my friends car made it up with no problems! 10/10 would totally stay here again!

Family Mountain Getaway

This was our family’a first visit to the area. The cabin was beautiful and the perfect size for our family of four. We hiked daily, shopped locally, ate delicious food, and came back to our cozy cabin. We played lots of board games, watched movies, enjoyed the hot tub. It was the percent winter reset. Mountain Spirit

I don’t have enough wonderful things to say about our stay at Mountain Spirit! The cabin was clean, well kept, and fully stocked with any and all supplies we needed during our stay (kitchen/cooking supplies, tons of blankets, and all necessary household items). We brought our two dogs and they loved the cabin as much as we did! We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub nightly after hiking all day and had a fire in the fire pit out back the last night. We loved how quiet and serene the area was surrounding the cabin and how it was just a short drive to all local attractions/hiking spots. We can’t wait to return for another visit!
