Good Stay, Slightly Misleading Name

The property was sufficient for my needs for a weekend stay with my girlfriends. However, there were no covers on the duvets while check-out instructions directed us to place duvet covers in the wash before leaving, so I'm unsure how they are cleaning the duvets. Kitchen facilities were very nice. Name is misleading because there was no dock and not really lake access and we planned on swimming in the cove. We did not want to intrude on the neighbors dock so we just chose to swim elsewhere which was kind of tricky logistically. It appears that maybe there was once a dock there but it had been removed, so a warning would have been nice. Additionally, the TV remotes only turned the TVs on and off, so we could only control them my connecting our phones. Overall, I was happy with my trip and the facilities the house provided and we had a good time.

Firat vacation in 20 years

This was our first vacation is 20 years. It was worth it. The house was clean and well accommodating. The view was great. And the area was very peaceful.

Family staycation

Dock Holiday was the perfect lake house! We loved the layout for our family. Our grand daughter thought her bunk room was fun and she loved making the closet her special place! The only thing negative was the access to the lake was a bit tricky without the dock but the house was great! The kitchen was very well stocked, the furniture was comfortable, and the beds were also comfortable. Overall very nice amenities.

Great time on the lake

It was a great time on the lake. Having the dock on the property was very convenient. The house was decorated adorably! A few maintenance issues during our stay, but the management company was quick to respond and support.

Lake James Getaway

The house was immaculate and the kitchen was well stocked. We enjoyed the patio, the boathouse and the floating dock. Unfortunately, the grill on the patio was not working properly and we had a difficult time getting our steaks cooked. The view from the house of Lake James is very nice even though it is at the end of an inlet Our biggest concern was the lack of parking. Our son-in-law had brought his pontoon, and was going to dock it at the boathouse. However, because there was nowhere for him to park his boat trailer, he had to take it out of the water and take it home. This was a disappointment. Also, if you have any mobility problems, this rental is not for you. There are way too many steps.

Great house close to the lake

One note is the dock provided is tricky to use since the entrance to the side dock is narrow with rocks on the side (there was a boat lift in the covered spot which was not deep enough to clear)

Ladies golf trip

We were a group of 4 ladies and we rented this house because we came to the area to play golf. The house was great for this. It was newly decorated and comfortably furnished. We ate at the hamburger place nearby and the food was really good. We weren’t there to use the lake but didn’t realize that there was absolutely no view. There is access but the house is at the end of a deep cove.

Staycation at the dock

It is a wonderful place for anyone who wants to boat on lake james. The boat dock with lift was particularly useful. The only drawback is that the house is not handicapped friendly as there are steep stairs from the parking down to the top level. Our solution for future stays will be to bring our belongings in by boat as it provides a much easier approach to the entry. This is a great rental, but you need to have good legs.

Nice weekend getaway

The house was peaceful. The outdoor patio was a nice dinner spot. The direction sign was missing at the end of the street where all the driveways are so it took a few tries to find the house. The cove is so quiet and perfect for kayaking around. We rented a pontoon boat for a day from Lake James boat rentals and really enjoyed being out on the water.
