Read it all, please. : )
The Good-
Large, comfortable house, with bedrooms separated by other rooms so quiet and private personal spaces. Best stocked kitchen we've ever found in a rental, with plenty of room for food storage, lots of Corelle dishes, glasses, cutlery-- all nice items, not mix and match from Goodwill. : ) Large dining table with room to move around it (always a plus) and seating in both upstairs and downstairs living rooms. Lots of outdoor seating on both upper deck and patio/lawn area. Plenty of hot water too. We didn't find the beds to be extremely comfortable, but manageable. Lots of towels, extra blankets, etc provided. Lots of board games, as well as ping pong-- again, with space to move around. Lots of paddles and ping pong balls provided. There is plenty of parking for boat trailers and several cars, and easy access to the house. Jumping off the upper level of the dock was a blast for the young and young-at-heart!
The Not-So-Good-
There is barely a view of the lake from the house or yard. I love trees and live in the woods, but thought a lakefront house would have a view of the lake. There is no view of the dock at all from the yard or house-- none at all. The picture of the dock is a bit misleading. The dock picture looks much better than the dock itself. There are 58 steep, narrow steps from the corner of the backyard down to the dock. We didn't take many of our kayaks and paddleboards down due to the steps. Worse still, my husband struggled to make it up and down at all. There is no "walk-in" area for little ones. The swim ladder is slimey, has no upper handrail, and angles under the edge of the dock, so while the kids scrambled up and crawled out, it was awkward and difficult for me. My husband didn't even attempt it, and never got in the water. My SIL secured it a bit better, and wedged a board under it to reduce the angle, but it's the worse dock ladder we've had. (BTW, I asked for pictures of the steps, yard, driveway, etc. and never received any or allowed to view the outside of the property at the owner's convenience.)
The community pool was clean and nice, with lots of tables and umbrellas, but the water was 93 degrees F. It's been a hot summer, but I've never been in a warmer pool.
The Ugly-
Due to the required light at the dock, there are spider webs, etc, galore. The back of our boat was covered in ??? each morning.
Overall we'd give the house an A- but the dock a C at best.
